If you look beyond the counting numbers CP3 has a great case somehow :mjlol:
Suns have been perennially terrible, can't break .500, and just by adding CP3 they become the 2nd best record in the league, 16-3 in their last 19. No other big acquisitions made. DBook doesn't look to have stepped up this year or evolved too much, Ayton's numbers are down big time...

Bron can't win a game without AD it feels like, I've always thought his case for MVP is mad overrated. Jokic is putting up crazy numbers, but Nuggets win/loss isn't reflecting that yet. CP3 got the damn Suns ahead of them both in the West :heh: This injury is gonna knock Embiid out the race :mjcry:
In reality, I don't think CP3 is the MVP. With Embiid presumably out of the race now, I'd give it to Jokic :manny:

The Nuggets are gonna have to jump into the top 3 for Jokic to even have a case of winning.

Harden, CP3, and Jokic should be frontrunners. All deserve it over Bron :manny:

If Jokic could get a top 3 seed it's likely his.

I know one thing, when KD comes back, there ain't a damn thing he can do to when the MVP award.

He should be talked about more but OP he will absolutely NOT be no front runner at any point.
He has the natural and non-manufactured narrative to win MVP, but people will try and downplay it. He’s exactly like what the MVP criteria should be.

Don’t use numbers as an excuse like the precedent hasn’t already been set.
Who set the precedent to win MVP with low numbers?

Edit: I've seen it revealed as Nash.
1) That was 15 years ago and shouldn't have much bearing now.
2) Nash was leading the league in assists in an era where point guards weren't asked to average 25. He also was cream of the crop with all around shooting numbers. He was the best at what players his size was asked to do.
3) Nash didn't have another elite shot creator/maker, and for one of his MVPs his biggest weapon was unavailable.

I can see him being top 5 in votes...not a chance he'd win it unless they finished with the best record in basketball, the Lakers fell outta top 3 in the west and the nuggets don't move up at all

the suns were undefeated in the bubble before CP3 even went over there. i dont know why people are acting like hes the reason theyre balling.

he definitely took them to another level, but hes not even the best player on the team.

Time isn’t an excuse to overlook precedent. For years, Devin Bookers have been putting up empty numbers with no impact on winning. People would be lying if they said that Phoenix would be this good if CP3 was on the roster.

If Bron was in CP3’s spot, then he’d be getting hyped up as MVP. You don’t have to manufacture a narrative to win MVP as it’s already there without it.

Are we sure though that those bubble performances would have carried over though? A lot of things that happened in the bubble haven’t carried over into the next season.

He is also the best and most impactful player on the team as Booker has been putting up empty numbers for years prior. Same KAT before Jimmy Butler came into town and change the direction of that team those couple of years he was there.
