Nah this is all on Trump. You are elected to be the leader of this country to LEAD effectively. Especially in times like this.

Say what you want about Obama and how he could've done more for the black community but the way he handled ebola was flawless. From assembling a team of experts to sending the resources straight to the source in west Africa to STOP THAT shyt right then and there. He knew if he didn't take action immediately it would spread here eventually and be catastrophic. Trump failed at so many levels. From cutting the pandemic team that was in place to handle situations like this to cutting the funding for research to purposely downplaying the situation while the virus was spreading. Breh fukked this country with his negligence
This is bigger than Ebola. And China trying to hush this up as long as they did prevented that kind of collaborative effort.

So you can't patent a virus but have virus like patents...:mjlol:

Zika virus ATCC® VR-84™

No, you can patent a virus, just not a naturally-occurring virus. You can patent an artificially created virus.

However, your link is not a 1947 patent. Zika virus was first isolated from monkey blood in 1947 - that is the "source". That source virus is open-source, having been deposited in the ATCC (American Type Culture Collection) in 1953, and can be used by researchers who have proper credentials and prove they have a valid need to use the virus in studies and can handle it safely.

You are looking at the name, not the patent:

Background on The Rockefeller Foundation and Zika - The Rockefeller Foundation

Zika was first discovered at the Foundation-supported Virus Research Institute in Entebbe, Uganda in 1947, and a sample of the virus was given to ATCC (a nonprofit organization that authenticates and preserves microorganisms for research) by J. Casals of The Rockefeller Foundation in 1953. This appears to be the source of the rumor that The Rockefeller Foundation “patented” the virus. In fact there is no indication that The Rockefeller Foundation holds or has filed for any patent on the Zika virus or has received any royalties or payments.
