It appears that Omicron is less deadly and less likely to cause hospitalization than Delta(based on cases in SA). In addition to the above, Omicron seems to produce very mild symptoms (headache; fatigue, sore throat,).

Someone catching covid is irrelevant, as it appears damn near all of us will get it eventually.
Where do you think these variants are coming from? People catching COVID. It's only a matter of time before a really bad variant surfaces.

I'll be at my 8 months next week. I'll go get my booster and keep to myself until this calms down. I visit my fam and avoid others unless it's for work. I want no part of this madness.

Until there's a new strain that leads to extreme deaths and hospilaztions, then it's time to concern. As of now, we know that the vaccines and monoclonals greatly reduce the risk of Delta, while Omicron appears to be very mild.

You likely got vaccinated to "get back to normal". What was the fukking point of you getting vaccinated, if you're going to be a Bunker Boy now? :snoop: :gucci:

You're fully vaxed and likely soon to be boostered, you have great protection against Delta(hospilaztion and death) and likely great protection against a mild Omicron. Nearly 2 years of isolation from your friends isn't good for your health, go and get a beer w/ your friends or shoot pool w/ them. It's ok bro, you'll more than likely be fine once you get covid, that's what the vaccines are for.

I can't speak for you but I got vaccinated so in the event I end up with COVID it doesn't kill me or I get a better chance of survival. All this talk of going back to normal while a pandemic is going on is baffling to me. Maybe you view the vaccine as some sort of invincible shield but to me it's more like a contingency plan.

But the thing is covid isn't going away, and we might have new variants for the foreseeable future. :ld:

You know what's costly, crippling people's social lives and isolating them from their friends, just because a very mild variant is spreading to a highly vaxed country. :ld:

Now you may say "we have to protect ppl w/ waning immunity", great that's why there's a booster for eligible ppl to take, and said booster reduces your risk of hospitalization or death. :ld:

you seem to be hyper focused on THIS particular variant being mild so far as symptoms go.
you do realize that there will be a new dominant variant, right?
the longer we can prevent this from emerging the better because the next one may not be so mild.
you sound like the mayor in Jaws telling everyone to get back in the water because he can't see the shark.

take a step back and really smell yourself.
you smell that?
yeah, that's bullshyt.

1. Even if you have a compromised immune system and/or comorbidities, your vaccine greatly reduce your risks of hospilaztion and death.

2. Now if you feel that's not enough, you can simply start doing basic health practices. These practices are getting in your daily vitamins/supplements (vitamin D,vitamin C, zinc); getting 8hrs of sleep daily, and exercising. All of these basic health practices will not only strengthen your body to fight covid, but will protect you from getting severely sick from colds.

3. If you still think that's not enough... then contact your state; city, or county's Dept of health, and ask them where you can get monoclonal antibodies. Monoclonals are a great treatment, when used within a few days of contracting covid.

If you do the three things I listed above(vaccinations; basic health practices, and monoclonals), then there's no real reason to fear catching covid, as you have overwhelmingly great odds of AVOIDING hospilaztion.

I understand this is personal to you, because you lost loved ones, but there's hardly anything to do to "stop the spread". The lockdowns of 2020 in NY were when we had high cases and hospilaztions.

Covid isn't going away and most of us will likely get it. The best thing we can do is prepare our bodies(vaccine, vitamins, get in shape, etc), so we have a strong defense against the severities of covid.

yo, do you.
i'm not exactly living in a bubble myself although i rarely leave my crib.
last night i went to the movies and took off my mask the whole time other than getting up to leave.
we had at least 10 feet between us and the closest people and nobody was talking.
we are both vaxxed, i'm getting boosted today.
it was a calculated risk that i took so i understand where you are coming from but....

not getting vaccinated is the height of selfishness. i can't even say it's ignorance at this point because the info is all out there.

like i said before, do you, breh...
