Once ICU has to start picking covid or non-covid pt to get a bed in there, or to make a makeshift ICU in a different part of the hospital, it's over.
Once they have to put adults in the kids hospital, it's over.
They stopped doing elective surgeries which means every last bed possible is going to be used to hold patients. It's over.

The flu goes away yearly because it weakens with transmission and herd immunity. I think people have realized it isn’t going away. The point of the initial quarantine was to prevent the medical system from being overwhelmed (like in NYC). Now the cases are being seen as milder, more asymptomatic people who go get swabbed cause they know someone positive more than anything. Orange County (FL) mayor reported today avg age of positives in the last 14 days is 29 yo. Biggest age group positive is 20-29. Those people have stronger immune systems and less comirbidities. They will help with the herd immunity. They need to stay away from compromised people though. Certain areas of FL are seeing spikes in SNFs too.
Keep in mind this is shyt I read
I'm still cautious. I wear my mask when I'm out. But at the same time, I adopted the mindset that this thing is here and will be here for a while. It might just have to run its course, or we have to just deal with it till a vaccine. I don't know where the line is exactly, but at some point the ripple effects of just shutting everything down will be worse than the result of the pandemic.
