It might be time to consider what to close back down. By the time their governor responds it'll be too late though.
Call me ignorant, but why does the phrase herd immunity even come up? Is there herd immunity to the Flu, SARS-1, Ebola? COVID is SARS-2 and I read that there are at least 3 strains. I am not sure what is fully known since the science is so new, so how can so many hang their hats on something so nebulous as “ herd immunity.” If someone know, please educate me( genuinely no sarcasm).
correctIf I read this right -- and I hope I didn't -- it says COVID is basically learning its opponent (people) and formulating a gameplan/adapting itself to better overcome any precautions we could take.
Scary.
Politics is why we are using the term herd immunity, they are looking for a quick fix. They need a fall man, and they got one with China. You have to remember that Spanish Flu wasn't started in Spain but in Kansas. It just show you how they aren't really managing anything on Federal level and some states don't want to succumb to non believers of Covid.Call me ignorant, but why does the phrase herd immunity even come up? In order to get herd Immunity you need about 70% of population to get Covid, so about 229 million people would have to contract it in order for it to work. We currently have 2.5 million with Covid right now so this won't work.*sighs* Idk, brehs. This shyt has been frustrating. I kind of agree with wearing a mask but at the same time the herd immunity I agree with too. There will come a time where we'll have to take these damn things off. I look forward to that day. I did buy a smiley face mask to wear at work so now customers can't say I wasn't smiling when they fill out that survey.

They don't know how long the immunity lasts, I read that immunity might only last two months. So if we get a second wave in Fall, people that got it in July won't be protected during the fall. That's why herd immunity is a non starter. Too many unknowns about the virus. So if you get covid you are immune ?
