Problem with that is that nobody was spending money like that when the stimulus dropped. Plenty of business were gonna go under. Especially restaurants with not many people eating out and some retailers with them being closed and everyone linking shopping. Shoot even movie theatres and gyms too. Yeah they could've given everyone more money no doubt, but it would've gone into savings and/or investments and not into buying useless stuff.
Outside of property payments, wft does restaurants and certain businesses need to spend money on?

Literally damn near everything was closed TOGETHER, so your lights and equipment ain't being used, so electricity ain't going up. Neither is water, heat, or air conditioning.

shyt like AMC theaters don't seem right. HOW ARE THEY LOSING MONEY WHEN EVEN THE MOVIES THAT WOULD HAVE DROPPED WAS POSTPONED, MEANING THAT THEY COULD STILL SHOW THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

ONLY A FEW MOVIES WENT STRAIGHT TO DIGITAL, SO I DONT UNDERSTAND HOW MOVIE THEATRES TOOK HUGE LOSSES IF THE WHOLE MOVIE INDUSTRY HAD TO STOP.

shyt doesn't add up to me

For theatres most their revenue is thru concessions far as I know. And regarding utilities, do the companies just cut off the electricity and water or leave them on and charge a minimum? Guess it depends on the company. Plus some spots may still be paying rent.

That is THE major expense for most businesses.

It's not uncommon for a small dive bar to have a &10k-$15k monthly lease

This is for a restaurant building in a blue collar area in Baltimore county

2101 Pulaski Hwy, Edgewood, MD 21040 - Retail Space for Lease | LoopNet.com

The lease there is $11k a month.

I gotta get some commercial property :wow:

The theaters usually get 50 percent of the cut from the ticket revenues.

Yea that's what I was thinking, but the government would be able to set shyt in place so the rent payments are removed until shyt is back normal or until they open back up.

I'm sure that would be easier than passing bills to give these businesses money they might not even need :yeshrug:

All they had to do was give proper stimulus checks each month for the rest of the year. smh.
Obviously that would have shut down the re open to help economy crowd.

I truly believe a large section of the open so I can golf/have a drink/get nails done crowd would have still been there .

Now I will say giving stimulus monthly def would have helped to publicly shame that section of America . So you got a point

What’s up with Best Buy stores not answering the phone anymore since COVID-19? I have an old MacBook to trade in, but I’m not trying to wipe it clean yet if they aren’t doing in store trade-ins.
Don't know where you are at but I got a note 10 plus a week ago at best buy. The store is closed to customer and you have to go there and pick up and get help curbside. Either you can go online and do the trade and then you will go there and get help in front of the store. Or you can drive up and more than likely they will have tables and scanners to help customers without having them come in the store.

I would try that. Again, this is what happened at the best buy in my area. I assume it would be the same where you're at.
