Wonder when Cuomo will decide its time to open back up

The moment you open up the city again and go back to packed subways cases are going to skyrocket...

Dallas and surrounding big cities are really starting to get out of control. Our cases are really spiking. Its kind of infuriating because the governor himself behind closed doors or any doctor will tell you opening things up will just cause more people to get sick and die but its all about stopping unemployment which it wont, so doing so this is all a moot point but its too politicized now.

With testing ramping up, people are being defiant, even mocking those who are wearing gloves and masks but it hits different when it feels like someone is sitting on your chest when you breathe.

Our chief hospitalist, as well myself and others met with the dallas county judge, commissioner, Lt Gov and others. Basically a non-binary group across the networks to show data on what's going on in the trenches. Came away from the meeting frustrated, they(government) know EXACTLY what's going on but this is coming down from Washington. Its basically a war between medical experts who know the deal and see whats going on and even worse what's about to happen VERSUS the politicians who care about the money first and they have autonomy to make decisions.

One politician who shall remain nameless told us in a conference call that it took damn near everyone just to get trump on board about this not being a hoax and even taking it seriously. And when you have the Texas Lt Gov who is a smug SOB on tv and in person as well that I can attest to saying "saying people are just gonna have to die, we cant stop the economy". I just hope his own chickens come home to roost.

The government strategy is to test as many people as possible, make them quarantine, and take their chances. Greg Abbott was trying to open things back up in early april. The tests are not as abundant as they are making it, most hospital staffs are running out of and constantly reusing old PPE, there is no "essential pay", and people are steady dying and its not being reported properly to circumvent the numbers, especially in Texas..

Don't get me started on whats going on with the funeral homes and morgues, that can be a entire different post.

I'm telling people I know to go out if its essential, otherwise, continue with some form stay of staying at home...

Was in Dallas a few months ago and the people, whether black white or Hispanic, were all nice to us. My prayers are with yall

People have to realize the curve is flattening because shyt is shut down. If you re-open it shouldnt be for that reason. It should be because testing is available for anyone who needs it, and a vaccine is here or close to being here.

Brotha I am glad you said all of this. As you know I live in dallas as well. People I know work in some of the social fields that support the communities here and they have calls with Abbott wheel chair bound shady ass.

We all know the deal. These red states and their governors are going to do whatever it takes to get folks back to work. If they have to kill folks. They are fudging the math of those infected and fudging the unemployment numbers to help make sure Trump gets re-elected in November. They are also in the pockets of big business thats why these jokers trying to pass bills on the federal level that the employers are not responsible it folks get sick on the job.

Finally some of these folks in dallas out their minds. You had this weekend in certain areas folks running to outdoor bars and restaurants. Packed up in huddles with no masks or social distancing.

This pandemic is opening their system to a vulnerability they're uncomfortable with. If us common people weren't so shortsighted we would see this and apply pressure.

Fortunately the elites have plenty of us commoners fighting their fight for them.

This is a once in a 1,000 year chance to use leverage and wrestle some back from the elites. We could refuse to work until they met our needs. Institute UBI, UHC, better retirement age, better work hours, vacation, minimum wage, etc.

But we're in a hurry to "get back to your plantation boss and works haarrd for you boss".

Iike I said before this covid 19 is a crash course in civics for americans that don't like politics. Or who think state and federal politics don't matter.

Second it shows how capitalism puts money first over everything. And how to get people or businesses or governments to do anything you have to make them do it with the power of money (either give it to them or deny it from them).

The country needed a nationwide strike to get these elites and corporations in check any way. In order for us to bring them to the table and establish balance.
