Like I said earlier, There will be an inevitable battle soombbetween another stimulus/ unemployment bill (Democrats)

vs opening everything back up (Republicans)

Dont worry, the black vote suppression squad on the Coli will say voting doesnt matter, both sides are the same
Your a fool if you dont think the democratic establishment doesnt want things opened back up..Dont forget they are also millionaire and billionaires

Man Im just thinking about how hard it must suck to be quarantined with your wife/husband/gf/bf when there was already a lot of tension before :picard:
Gonna be a shyt ton of domestic violence & child abuse :mjcry:
from the call center and having family in law enforcement, i can see theres a lot going on.
Some people are even calling mental facilities and rehab programs in hopes that they are admitted, rather than stay at home with others.

New York fukkin' City
Saw a really cool site last night driving to my BM house....

She lives in Jackson Heights in Queens, so I pass Elmhurst Hospital on my drive and there were about 5-6 coach buses parked in front with what I imagined were volunteer healthcare workers from out of state arriving and hopping off, scrubs and masks on ready to go, alot had luggage and bags with them, etc.

People were stopping on the street to clap and cars were honking and screaming out the windows as they passed.

The world is all sorts of jacked up right now, but seeing a scene like that really inspired me and also hit hard. :mjcry:

There has to be a balance. If things remain shut down so long that the country is damaged beyond repair then what? I don't want things opening up before they're ready but at the same time you can't just ignore the other side of the equation. There will be a cost to a prolonged shut down.

Now if our society was constructed differently we could better deal with it but most of us are indentured servants. We have to work a job to keep a roof over our heads, health insurance, feed our families. Many of us live at the edge of what we can afford. Many live paycheck to paycheck with minimal savings. You can't have rampant job loss like that. The entire system of life in this country would collapse and what would replace it? Our society is a house of cards and if it collapses heaven help us all.

it is a problem that the country has so much of its population in such fragile financial condition that this breaks so many people’s ability to support themselves. however situations like this is what government is for - and measures like UBI (at least temporarily), delayed mortgage/rent payments, etc...can help support the vulnerable while we ride this thing out

the US is tremendously wealthy and CAN afford to do measures like this if willing

this situation is unprecedented, and we gotta adapt and respond accordingly
