because clinics are closed
majority of the time hospitals are full because patients come to the hospitals for appointment. Now that most non essential surgeries are postponed it's "empty"

Plus most hospitals are not allowing visitors, so becky with the baby who had 20 fam members come to visit her now just has her husband.

Plus even if you test positive for covid you go home, you only go to the hospital if your symptoms are horrible

:patrice: Clinics have ER's? the news keeps interviewing ER doctors

they also keep saying that hospitals are "overwhelmed"...overwhelm by definition = huge mass. where are these masses of people?

again the video shows all of this, don't take my word for it - in fact, somebody break down one of those videos and show us where it's wrong - educate us. :hubie:

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced details for a cash payment for Canadians out of work because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Applications for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit will be accepted starting tomorrow, offering Canadians who have lost their jobs because of the crisis $2,000 a month.

Trudeau says it will take three to five days for the money to arrive by direct deposit or 10 days by mail.

Only those born in January, February and March can apply tomorrow. The rest of the months will go in order in groups of three on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday before it opens to everyone on Friday.

Trudeau says the government is doing everything it can to prevent the system from crashing.

Breh I work at one of the biggest hospital networks in north america, i'm there almost every day.

No Hospitals have a bunch of clinics, like day surgery, operating room, etc. etc.
ER's are usually packed even in non covid seasons. Overwhelm = ICU
Lets say you have 30 icu beds, and usually those are taken and filled by people who have massive strokes, heart attacks , recovering from heart surgery etc. etc.

It's not like people are stopping having strokes, heart attacks, aneurysms etc. , but now with Covid-19 it puts an added strain on the system

Andrew Cuomo's conference today mentioned that hospital admissions, ICU admissions, and new intubations were all down today in NY State. It looks like in THIS part of the country we're reaching the apex as far as infections. Since there's a lag time, I guess that means we'll hit the apex for deaths in the next week or so.

Unfortunately, most of the rest of the country probably won't "catch up" for a while.
Likely the last week of the month it seems like.

Doesn’t mean they’ve reached the apex. It’s only 1 day. Have to see how the rest of the week looks.

Breh I know people that work at hospitals every day and they're just going to work like normal too, taking selfies the whole 9...

I'm just not seeing this "overwhelming" they speak of, and BTW all the news outlets are using that term "overwhelm"

Look at the dislikes under this video and read the comments, this is just from last week, people ain't buying it :manny:
