The killer coronavirus can spread through the air and remain contagious for hours, another study has suggested.

US scientists found high levels of the bug lurking in the air in rooms long after patients had left.

What's more is that traces of the coronavirus were also discovered in hospital corridors outside patients' rooms, where staff had been coming in and out.

The University of Nebraska researchers behind the study say the finding highlights the importance of protective clothing for healthcare workers.

It follows a wealth of studies that have suggested the highly contagious disease does not just spread via droplets in a cough or sneeze.

Scientists around the world are scrambling to understand how the virus, which has now infected 785,282 people and killed almost 38,000, sheds and spreads.

The latest study, which has not been peer-reviewed by other scientists yet or published in a scientific journal, took samples from 11 patients' rooms after they had been placed in isolation following a diagnosis.

The researchers found viral particles in the air both inside the rooms and in the hallways outside of the rooms.

Their finding suggests people may be able to contract the bug without ever being in direct close proximity to an infected person.

I was talking to a guy today who served in WW2, and he said this whole situation is the most significant thing that has happened in his lifetime. I thought about it afterward and this guy has lived through Pearl Harbor, WW2 and the Atomic age, the March on Washington, the assassination of JFK, the Moon landing, the Cold War, 9/11, etc. and THIS is the most significant thing that he has seen in his lifetime. :wow: He might be right.

Crazy. We in the front lines of a war against an airbourne virus.

but more than 50% of America a week ago said he was handling the issue well so I think it's necessary to remind folk how the leaders failed

My only concern is that I feel his base is still in his support and if we somehow thread this needle and keep the number relatively low he's gonna spout the fake news nonsense and they're all gonna eat it up. They shouldn't be enough though right? :patrice:

The US is starting to see 'glimmers' that social distancing could be slowing the spread of coronavirus -- but there's more to do, officials say
US coronavirus: Social distancing appears to be slowing the spread, experts say - CNN
All 50 states need to get on board. I think Mississippi governor was the most stubborn about this and I think they had like 1000+ new cases today. :snoop:

He even overruled local city government's who tried to implement measures to help with social distancing and minimizing spread.

I know Desantis in Florida basically said he will wait for an OK from Trump before shutting shyt down and Fauci and Birx pretty much said in so many words that all states need to do this so we will see if he takes the hint. This MS governor though seems to be one of the most stubborn dudes on this issue.

Also Nevada hasn't done shyt either.

Texas has low numbers but I don’t think there has been as many tests. Last week I had a headache, sore throat but mainly due to allergies so reading through these posts have a homie anxious. Every morning I take my temp.

here in Houston non essentials are to stay home, my wife stays home with the kids so they been locked inside for a few weeks now.

I go to my office since it’s a mile away and it’s ghost town, if I get bored I got to job sites and stay away from folks.

this shyt need to hurry the fukk up and get done so we can get back to baseball.

I think he's already lost Michigan. If Biden can get PA then Trump is probably done for.

One thing I don't like is how CNN and MSNBC make sure they shyt on Trump (not that its not warranted) bite all know he fukked up. The media should stop throwing shots and report about the problem.
I thought they been reporting the problem since January :mjtf:

the administration always push things through silently when the general public isn’t paying attention. That’s why they silently have push so much things through people aren’t aware about like everything Obama set in place including emissions loosening today that will effect global warming.. all for the $$$ that your president is about he is a puppet to major corps and this is how he really got in office

Trump himself knows that Michigan is a lost cause. You think he can hold a rally there anynore (whenever this crisis clears up)? PA is also looking @ Trump like :hhh: for his poor response.

we might not fukk around and have an election come June

but on the flip side, I think a lot of people need to revisit and look at how close 2016 really was as an election
