No, no, no, and no.Could D’lo been the rock?
Could mideon have been Mick Foley?
Could Krugan been the big show?
Could one of the Harris Twins been Stone Cold?
Did you just say Val could be main eventing?? With Stone Cold , Taker , Prime Kane, Prime Rocky and Foley . No just no . Val best match was with damn Rikishi . He wasn’t close to being a star. He was a mid carder and even with a gimmick change would be exposed once Eddie and Kurt arrived, plus CB. Matter of fact thinking that Edge and Christian and the Hardy’s were there also with new age outlaws. He was at best curtain jerker or enhancement talent.Remember when in 99 they tried to give val a push? He had a good match with stone cold I remember. He probably could have been main eventing. I guess it was that he couldn't shake the gimmick that they gave him.
Triple H was a good but not great wrestler who did boring wack promos. You could take a few generic tall roided up blonde He-man type build wrestler and give them Triple H’s booking and push and they’d probably be the same thing.
You couldn’t say that about any of the GOATs...Austin, Rock, HBK, Sting, Hoegan, Savage, Hitman, Flair, etc.
i'll take the baitThese guys are trying to rewrite history but triple h never drew a dime. Half the world stopped watching wrestling cause of him.
I could see Val Venis upgrading his roids and coming out to one of Triple H’s 9 entrance themes and throwing a bottle of water on himself and giving “I am the Game-uh!” promos in his porn star voice.I see what OP is going for. HHH was average AF without the hype machine so what i think he's trying to ask is could Val have been as big with the same care?
The answer is an emphatic no though. HHH for all of the faults people can bring up about him had a drive to be like his hero Ric Flair and it played in the way he carried himself. And also not for nothing HHH was a pretty good bump guy when he weighed less and didnt have knee issues.
I dont see Val even with the machine being as convincing as HHH was.
Yeah in late 99 they switched up his character, focused less on the porn star gimmick and he was booked as this aggressive heel. Feuded with Foley and had matches with Rock and Austin, so they were clearly trying to push him to the next level, but it never really panned out.
I thought he was a good worker, good look, he was okay on the mic, but I dunno with better booking he might've been a bigger star but he wasn't reaching HHH levels.
Maybe the thread premise wasn’t clear but I meant if the guy who played Val Venis was never given the porn star gimmick but been Triple H from the start...aristocrat, DX, The Game. Or at least starting with DX cause the aristocrat thing was kind of a holdover from WCW.No, the porn character could only go so far and they waited til they had one of the greatest rosters ever to change his character where he had absolutely no chance of out shining anyone
No , Sean didn’t have the it factor to make the next level.Maybe the thread premise wasn’t clear but I meant if the guy who played Val Venis was never given the porn star gimmick but been Triple H from the start...aristocrat, DX, The Game. He was booked as a porn star, Levesque was booked as HBK’s lil bro with Chyna debuting as his manager in a cool stable. They’re basically the same guy.No , Sean didn’t have the it factor to make the next level.
