It being so cheap is why I'd say :yeshrug: You never walked into like Target or Bestbuy, saw something that you don't really need but just bought it because it's not that expensive? That's how $150 would feel to me. "Ehh I got $150 to spare lemme get that." Game pass on PC would suffice but I like to have the console so I can compare/contrast the differences so that when I speak on it people don't think I'm just running my mouth about something I don't know. :russ:
That's what's up.

I can't even front; I don't have many situations where I could feel comfortable blowing $150 on some useless shyt that I spend a lot of my free time trashing.

When we talk about Sony taking a loss we have to consider Sony expects the sell upwards of 100 million consoles. A ~$100 loss on each console is a lot of money.

Also PlayStation is Sony’s number one money maker. They said last gen they didn’t want a repeat of PS3 where they sold at an extreme loss.

Im thinking PS5 will be at least $550. Disc less $500

Or they will both be $500.

No way in hell the discless version is $400.

If the PS5 is $550 Sony can kiss their gaming division goodbye.

They "can" but it would again jeopardize the marketshare they enjoy.

They admitted many times since the PS3 shyt that they won't make that kind of mistake in pricing again.

I still expect 399/499.

Same. I don't know why some people think Sony wants another PS3 599 debacle. Fanboys are hoping and praying Playstation prices themselves out of the market.

Nah, they’d be fine. And they would have the discless version to hit the $500 sweet spot.
That extra 5 in the $550 is flexing hard :wow: I can see the articles now. "PS5 is $550 and Series X is $499. Why is a weaker console more expensive" would be all over the web.

Don’t matter what they price it there’s gonna be some dumb ass articles.

Some outlets already running stories about how the series S is “faster” than the PS5 :wow:

Gamers depending on the type of gamer you are should be more focused on the FPS their titles will run on their monitor/tv resolution and refresh rate.

No way the disc and discless PS5 are a $100 apart.

Disc drives only cost Sony about $5 to put in a console. They aren’t throwing that $95 in the bushes just to try to compete with the series S.

also from a consumer standpoint a disc drive is not worth $100. That would make the PS5 disc version the least appealing from a value standpoint out of all the consoles.

I think they will be priced the same, or at most $50 apart.

PS5 price may be changing — thanks to Xbox Series X | Tom's Guide

more fuel to the fire.

399/499 starting to make the rounds.
How could the price change if it was never set?

I wish they would have stick to their initial price. It’s time consoles make money for Sony and Microsoft. Microsoft should take a hit on the series S for gamepass.
Keep the PS4 active and create a lighter version in 2-3 years.
If we can afford 400 dollars ps4s at launch. People can afford 500/600 ps5.

Whose picking up the digital edition for 50 dollars difference be realistic.
