Because they knew it would look crazy if people found out crystal dynamics was the ones making the game a year from now.
The initiative was supposed to be Microsoft’s answer to naughty dog, the first AAAA studio. Now they are contracting out the brunt of their big games development to the people who made two average tomb raiders and the only major marvel game to bomb in years

Just like it looks crazy game freak makes Pokemon or dimps makes street fighter.... Outsourcing is super common especially during crunch.
It really would only look crazy to people who are looking to bash something.

This isn’t “outsourcing” though CD is making the game. It’s clear microsoft couldn’t put a studio together to get this game done in the time they needed

Where was Microsoft suppose to get this team for this game and expect it finished in any kind of reasonable timeframe?
The same place all these other people do... This move literally lays a foundation for further "business" together if it goes well.

No, this isn’t “common outsourcing” though that other established studios do. Other established studio outsource one aspect of development out to an external studio that specializes in one or two things, like asset creation, mo-cap, concept design etc. which is exactly whats still gonna happen when Perfect Dark is being made, both the Initiative and CD are going to continue to outsource to other companies.
This is a full fledged partnership. Sony studios don’t do this unless they are fully contracting out an IP to a 3rd party developer which is more of what this is, crystal dynamics are actually making the game. Thats not what you stans and microsoft themselves pitched The Initiative as and you know it.
They’ve had 5 vets leave the company since, the two leads left, one went back to insomniac, and the other Shaun Escayg went back to Naughty Dog, the other 3 went to CD.
This studio yall gassed is nothing more than a support studio, they aren’t anything more than what Xdev is for sony, except way less effecicent.

The fact that most big triple A games are outsourced to not just another studio but, 2, 3, 4, 8, 12 different studios. All handling different pieces.
In this case it's (as of now) it's only two...

You’re really dumb if you think they won’t be outsourcing any of the development outside of these two studios when crystal dynamics itself doesn’t make games on it’s own.
Why don’t y’all ask Phil to concentrate on getting his studios in order before buying new ones. You’ve got 23 studios yet almost a year into the series X launch and still nothing for the console. Initiative had to go begging another outside studio for help whilst Sony’s studios keep pumping out games after games.
First of all the game is trash.Btw, Sony had the marketing rights for Avengers, and had the exclusive content(Spiderman).
It's over a year later and we haven't heard anything from it, yet this Gamepass announcement came outta nowhere.
Second, the game is already on PSNow way before it came on Gamepass
Third, y’all not getting the Spider-Man dlc which is the most popular and will only be on PlayStation.
