BREAKING: We just released a new model with academic partners showing that COVID-19 could claim the lives of approximately 100,000 more people than current projections stipulate if jail populations are not dramatically and immediately reduced.

Mass incarceration was a major public health crisis before the outbreak of COVID-19, but this pandemic has pushed it past the breaking point. Delaying action for even a week could mean a difference of 18,000 lives lost in our country.

The U.S. obsession with mass incarceration is our country’s Achilles heel when it comes to reducing COVID-19 spread.

Prison officials had stopped visitors, suspended schooling, ended counseling and locked at least some teens in their cells 23 hours a day to stem the pandemic, one mother said.

Some teens report they are locked up for 23 hours a day at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center in Virginia.

u guys are lookin at it wrong if u think trumps going to jail.

think about it like the wops. When Castellano got hit by Gotti, the commission was furious and put a hit on Gotti. They only cared cause if u wack one boss without get back you can wack any of em. If they take trump down it could start a domino effect. They gotta protect him.
I keep telling people this same thing. No chance Trump goes to prison. Biden would never allow it cuz he ain’t tryna get hemmed up. Same with Obama.

GOP Rep. Pete King slammed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Wednesday, after the senator said that he’s in favor of allowing states to declare bankruptcy in the wake of coronavirus efforts that have drastically diminished state budgets.

“To say that it is ‘free money’ to provide funds for cops, firefighters and healthcare workers makes McConnell the Marie Antoinette of the Senate,” King shared.

McConnell said Tuesday that he supports letting states declare bankruptcy as they face budget constraints in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
