i laugh at idiots who say this was rushed... that doctor was working on this long time, she just didnt have the funding

You still de pan dat :picard: ?

How about what the FDA says ..

"Additional adverse reactions, some of which may be serious, may become apparent with more widespread use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine."

"FDA has authorized the emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech C O VID-19 Vaccine, which is not an FDA-approved vaccine."

"The significant known and potential risks and benefits of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and the extent to which such risks and benefits are unknown"

"The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is a vaccine and may prevent you from getting COVID-19. There is no U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved vaccine to prevent COVID-19."

"Serious and unexpected side effects may occur. Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is still being studied in clinical trials."

"The United States FDA has made the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine available under an emergency access mechanism called an EUA. The EUA is supported by a Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) declaration that circumstances exist to justify the emergency use of drugs and biological products during the COVID-19 pandemic."

"The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine has not undergone the same type of review as an FDA-approved or cleared product. FDA may issue an EUA when certain criteria are met, which includes that there are no adequate, approved, available alternatives. In addition, the FDA decision is based on the totality of scientific evidence available showing that the product may be effective to prevent COVID-19 during the COVID-19"

Good post. At what point would it potentially be safe to take?

You misunderstand what I am saying and how these things work. It's a sliding scale of risk. It's a personal decision. And most importantly of all I am not a doctor and I am not telling people what they should do.

The facts are the facts and we cannot just ignore them or wish them away with wishful thinking.

Los Angeles County has been so overwhelmed it is running out of oxygen, with ambulance crews instructed to use oxygen only for their worst-case patients. Crews were told not bring patients to the hospital if they have little hope of survival and to treat and declare such patients dead on the scene to preserve hospital capacity.

For what it's worth, EU did not give the emergency use shortcut, and it still approved Pfizer and just now also Moderna...

All vaccines in Europe must go through the conditional approval process... Some people (i.e. Germans) are not happy with the delay we have compared to US and UK, but I'm glad someone does a more thorough approval...

Yeah but breh your positionning is kinda sketchy though. On one hand, you stay highlighting the potential side effects of the vaccines but on the other you're "I'm not a doctor, I'm not telling you what to do :whoa:". You know damn well instilling doubt into something implictly goes against its use.

We all know the approvals are rushed and the widespread use may cause unexpected side effects. I think we all agree on that. Short term, there seem not to have much if not any. Mid term, long term we cant know and wont know until a few years.

But once again, you seem to compare potential side effects in the future however severe they might be to actual deaths and disabilities that are happening right now. In the US alone, they are on par with 100k deaths a month :picard:

At which point do you find acceptable for the balance to tip towards emergency use ? Because as the FDA states, that's what it is.

Is the FDA instilling doubt by putting those provisos in their published guidance for the vaccine? Are they being "sketchy"?

I would really like to know your opinion on that.

Fantasy facts do NOT help (and can be counter-productive). You gorge on fantasy facts and then wake up a few months later to how far you gave wandered from reality. See the pinned covid threads for many (many) examples.

Global study to investigate whether Covid-19 could lead to long-term cognitive decline, Alzheimer's and dementia YEARS after infection
  • US and UK-based academics are planning a large-scale global study
  • Will recruit and follow 40,000 people worldwide who have contracted Covid-19
  • Study will investigate if the viral infection increases risk of cognitive decline
Scientists are concerned the coronavirus could cause long-term damage to the brain and central nervous system, potentially leading to Alzheimer's in later life.

US and UK-based academics are planning a large-scale global study to investigate the possibility SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes Covid-19, could lead to cognitive decline, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other forms of dementia years after infection.

The full repercussions of brain-related problems caused by the coronavirus will not be fully understood for decades as survivors age but autopsies, mouse studies and data from other respiratory viruses are cause for concern, researchers warn.

There is currently no evidence the coronavirus does cause Alzheimer's but it has been found the virus is able to invade the brain and scientists hope their global study can shed light on the issue.
