Ineptitude of the current administrationWow for whatever reason finding out my neice - who is home for spring break (and all other colleges it seems in this part of the state) have been told to stay home an additional week and then online only classes at least thru April 17. I was like wow. But then they postponed the NBA and Tom Hanks and his wife got it? I knew it was going to happen from what the experts were telling us but I am preparing and trying not to read every piece of news about it which only makes a brother nervous. I am fortunate that I have a roommate who works at a grocery store and I have the ability to work from home if needed.
The one thing I cannot understand was from a page ago in this thread. Why don't we have more testing kits out there? That boggles my mind.
I've been really scared for 3 weeks now. I've been freaked the fukk out since my friend at the CDC broke shyt down to me near the end of last month, but I also felt kind of crazy because reality hadn't caught up to what he was saying would happen. Now that it's going down I'm really fukking scared breh.
Could u share what ur friend said
I honestly am not thinking about Corona should I be scared?
Our hospitals, experts say, are severely underprepared for the expected number of coronavirus cases. According to biologist Liz Specht, writing in STAT, the United States has about 2.8 hospital beds per 1,000 people, and if 10 percent of coronaviruses cases require hospitalization, beds will be at capacity by early- to mid-May. (And, given the lack of testing in the US, it’s not clear how many Americans have been infected in the first place.) On top of that, as my colleagues Will Peischel and Jessica Washington reported last week, in 2018 Trump cut most of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s funding for fighting pandemics. That same year, the head of the National Security Council’s global pandemic team left his post, followed shortly after by the entire team. The positions remain empty.
Welp
