The contact tracing portion is even more embarrassing because Google and Apple co-developed a good solution that would be easy to roll out. I've always said this country can survive on auto pilot but for how long? It's clear we've finally hit that point

A big portion of the reopen crowd was like, "We've stayed home and social distanced for two months now. We done with that shyt. "

However, there were people that felt like they had no choice but to go back to work because the government wasn't doing its job. The agreement was supposed to be, "You [the people] stay home to fight the spread of coronavirus. We [the government] will help you take care of what you need in the meantime." But the government didn't hold up their end of the bargain, with stimulus checks going out late, people waiting months to get UI (if they can even get through to apply), and letting big business yank all the PPP loans.

I'm of the opinion that the role of a government should ensure the health of it's citizens and they ultimately failed here

The biggest misstep in all of this is due to failing to adhere to simple logic. You could have reopened the economy for most businesses but they reopened the wrong businesses. This is the issue. Why the f*ck would you reopen the businesses that involve the most social interactions. They should have never reopened bars or beaches and never opened up inside or outdoor dining in restaurants. The curbside pickup and delivery was working. We saw that people were going to the grocery store or places like target with their masks. It was working. The spread was being contained. But no these jack*sses decided to reopen first not last, the stuff that most people do for social interactions knowing full well that you can’t do social distancing at these places. We didn’t need beaches to open up and we didn’t need bars to open up. Since reopening Most people seem to be getting sick from these primarily.

what we were doing the last few months was working and it could have kept working but these incompetent idiots ignore the fact that people are going to people and f’d it all up.
