Because I don't think, by in large, it's a good faith critique to find which candidate upholds liberal standards. Rather, it seems like an attempt to bash someone, and distort their words without any context, to persuade liberals not to vote all together.

And I want to win, dammit. And not for the sake of winning just to win. Republican policies do demonstrable harm to every day people that are much more egregious than a bill to stop gang violence.



The winner in any given state is (usually) the one who gets the most votes. I'm not saying we have to do like Republicans and literally vote for a confessed pedophile ... but we don't need to stay home because the candidate used the phrase "super predator". Like, the scales of what each side tolerates are completely night and day.

You do want to win at all costs if you can't find any good faith critiques. Not everything is a conspiracy. No standards leads to the Bush family lying to their base, it leads to Farwell and Haggard. All politics is purity politics. If you can't have standards on your political values what can you have standards on? And then why should we can what someone who doesn't have standards says about the Republican, because obviously they only care about winning not not the damaging policy.

I don't think they are perfect. Bernie particularly on foreign policy, Tulsi on torture and letting Syrian refugees into the US and Warren for supporting Hillary in 2016 over Bernie and her statements on Standing Rock. But at least these candidates stand up for something and speak truth to power.
