Basically saying how a lot of prior cases of police brutality in the city, have and are being swept under the rug, in front of the national media. And how when the city looking for ways to reform the police or suggestions from the "community" in Dallas, there's no real black leadership at the table to help critique reform. He also subliminally took shots at rev. Jesse Jackson, al sharpton etc....for not understanding the regional politics in Dallas....

@Black Jesus has been quiet, what's your take on this breh

There is a highway named after a black preacher...he's know around here for painting MLK as a threat and discouraged him from coming to Dallas in the 60s. I'll recall his name soon. This is same area that confiscated the kid's clock for looking like a bomb and handcuffed black teens for using a pool in the white neighborhood. Most of the black politicians here are crooks...John Weily Price and the other guy who got into the beef on the radio station. Lol that shyt was posted everywhere online. Heard the area by the downtown station was on lockdown and rumors were being spread that black terrorist from Houston were coming to shoot cops up here. :beli:

One thing that's crazy to me about the whole last week of police brutality stories is that no one in the media has brought up the mental health angle.

Every time these cops say that they felt in fear for their life, there's a part of me that automatically assumes they're complete pieces of shyt and lie to save their own ass but there's another part that thinks about how terrible healthcare is in this country when it comes to providing adequate healthcare for those in dangerous jobs (soldiers, police, etc).

Frankly I believe that a lot of these cops' underlying racism is intertwining with their untreated PTSD in a very sick way. They're already erratically experiencing the trauma of getting shot at/losing a partner/killing somebody but on top of that they're prejudiced against us and see us as combatants... A lot of the cops literally use military terminology (kill zone, danger zone, etc.) to refer to the hood. Situations that seem tame to a mentally healthy person can feel life threatening to a mentally unhealthy person... These cops are never leaving the war zone in their heads so to speak.

When are these cops going to be required to complete mental health evals and the associated treatment before they're let back on the force? A lot of them don't start out this way but the combo of entrenched trauma/racism in the force and the corruption in the justice system is damning for those of us living in the "kill zone".

I'd never thought of that, but there could be some truth to it. When they've followed up on a few of these cops after the shooting they clearly were on some mad PTSD shyt and didn't look like they should ever be let back on the force or anywhere near a Black person while in a position of authority.

Nobody EVER talks about mental health unless they're using it as a defense in a trial. It's the hugest problem we have in this country, and no one knows how to talk about it because it would require a serious overhaul of our medical insurance and providers. And what's even more fukked up is that black folks are even more susceptible to PTSD if they live in crime ridden areas because they're constantly faced with death and the fallout from it.
