NYC has always been a transplant city, if and when peopke live, others will take their placeHonestly, I don't think they will be affected like that. Most of them will suddenly "wake up", realize the city isnt all that and move back to where they came from-the suburbs or wherever they were living before. By then, you'll see a mass exodus of empty housing and the people that will end up suffering are the working class that are still in the city. A lot of these transplants have something to fall back on, parents, trustfunds and etc. NYC is just a vacation spot to live at for a certain number of years than they are out.
