THIS is a good take.

Russ has been the MIP of the year so far with his ability to generate scoring opportunities for the Lakers with seemingly NO SHOOTERS.

It's still early, and the Lakers have another 2 levels to reach before they hit their final form.

With that said, it might be time to bet on the LAKERS to win the most unlikely championship in its history...
Shut the fukk up.

Reaves makes defenses pay on offense hitting open shots and creating while Caruso still clanking wide open shots. Defensively caruso is bette due to athleticism but reaves ain’t no slouch due to his iq

Why don’t the lakers have these young developmental guys on longer contracts? So Lonnie walker basically is just there for the season. They couldn’t do those 2-3 year deals for guys like reeves?

These guys are on veteran minimum deals or in Walker’s case he signed for the tax payer MLE as LAL had no cap space this summer.

Lakers don’t have their bird rights to sign them to go over the cap.

So to keep them they will need to use their 2023 cap space.

I got it but I'll use some teams as examples. You know those deals like the 76ers use to give to guys like Covington. The Lakers seem like they have a constant depth turnover and don't lock the developmental guy's into longer term contracts. Basically the Hinkie specials. The Heat and Raptors are some of the better teams at that lately basically those end of bench guys that they tie into 2-3 season deals who end up becoming productive depth.

Lonnie Walker for example would to me be more valuable on a 2 year or 3 year deal right now. During free agency (I know he's Klutch) couldn't they have used that MLE on a person who stays around longer? Not saying anything is wrong with Walker but I would for example have liked him better on a 2 year team option type of deal. Because if Walker remains healthy he will most def not be playing for the MLE next season.
