Again guys like Troy Brown, Beasley may be trash, Christie may not be ready, Bamba (at least for game 4) might have been rusty. But you try something. The way Ham approached it they werent going to have any gas left for game 5 if they won.

Beasley and Brown were a combined 6-30 from three-point against Memphis, and that pretty much killed any chance they had to get back on the floor. Combined with the fact that they weren't defending well, and I understand why Ham didn't play them.

It sucks that the 1st round had such a large impact on the 3rd round. If they had just managed to coax a few more shots down, maybe they would have been able to stay in the rotation.

What third star can the Lakers potentially add while keeping Rui and Reaves? :patrice:

That only would have been possible if teams could be tricked into thinking that D-Lo was still going to develop into a high-level PG. That ship sailed last week.

Focusing on the 3rd star when our 2 stars got outplayed by Jokic and Jamal. Some of y’all don’t learn. I’m more focused on how we can get more players like Reaves and Rui than a 3rd “star”. What 3rd star did Denver have? Don’t tell me it’s Aaron Gordon because he was less impactful than Reaves so that would imply Reaves is a 3rd star. I wish we had Danny Ainge as the GM. He would tear this whole shyt up. Look at the honest built Utah Jazz and how well they played. If they didn’t intentionally tank, they would have had a better record than us.

Agreed. I just don't think it matters because I don't see him developing those skills in college, not to an NBA level. If he can't drible and create off the dribble now it's probably not happening and like you alluded to, he's too small to be a 3 and D guy. Might as well play one year in college, play a couple of games with his dad in the NBA and then move on to the next part of his life.

In this point guard dominated league, 6'2" is fine for a 3-and-D guard. Play him next to someone like Halliburton, Harden, Shai, Luka, Lamelo, Lonzo...you'd rather have those guys guarding the 2 anyway. And even when he faces tall point guards, an elite defender at 6'2" is going to be fine against a 6'5" pg, far more so than the comparatively poor defenders in most PG slots.

Lebron has already backed off the “gun ho. Gotta play with Bronny” mindset so I don’t think its as a big an issue as we’re all making it.

I think Lebron, perhaps for the first time, can see the end in sight. His mindset needs to be on packaging a competitive, playoff ready team around him for the next two years. A team that DOESN’T require him to play 48 fukking minutes straight just to have a chance at a W in a win or die scenario. Those are the thoughts and conversations I expect he’ll be having with Pelinka and Jeanie and Darvin going forward. Not Bronny’s theoretical draft position.

I think everyone’s well aware at this point that AD’s not THE guy to hand the keys too. The question is, who IS the player that would potentially be available or attainable to take those keys? I know as of right now everyone wants to FORCE Kyrie Irving into being that guy. But history often repeats itself and everywhere Kyrie has been since leaving Cleveland the first time he’s wrought utter chaos. Why in Allah’s name would Pelinka, Ham, or Lebron himself want to deal with that headache? Kyrie will throw ANYBODY under the bus in his mad quest to be the most disruptive superstar who ever played basketball. Its a recipe for disaster. Why would Lebron spend the last two seasons of his career in that shyt show? Especially after the Westbrook experiment failed.

Trae Young also doesn’t make sense. He’s horrible on defense. He’s mercurial. And he’s a coach killer. Is he really capable of being THE guy to lead a team with real expectations of being a contender?

One name that keeps coming up is FVV, and honestly I like him as the PG over DLO.

Keep Reaves, Rui, go after FVV, get an actual 3pt shooter and a backup big and make another push
We can't really go after anyone unless it's a sign and trade with DLO. New CBA and no cap space. Rob would have to pull some crazy scenarios to get anyone because of that.
