Just looking overall ahead..... Think we lose pretty handily to the 76ers

Our best bet would be a Miami Heat team shocking the world and making it to the finals
The Sixers are a much easier matchup than the Celtics. Two of their three best players offer places for the Lakers to attack.. Maxey would get targeted mercilessly like Curry was last night. Their supporting cast is also very inconsistent-- Harden, Maxey, Harris, Tucker are just as likely to have stinkers as they are to have good games. I like the Lakers chances if AD could guard Joel credibly.

Looks about right. Matches what I said, he's not that guy anymore as evidenced by those graphs. He's closer to a Jalen Brunson impact on offense than he is to a Jokic-Booker which is fine. It's not exactly a secret considering the games we won has been either a team effort or a role player went absolutely off while Bron and AD were steady. Also comparing him to AD on offense isn't exactly a ringing endorsement seeing how AD's offensive capabilities are pretty limited.

He's not prime Bron. But he's not "just another player" either. He has basically the same overall impact as KD, just below Steph, AD, and Butler, and well above anyone on the Celtics or Sixers. He's still top-10, that's elite.

Compared to his standard of "by far the best every year" that's not great, but compared to the rest of the NBA it's remarkable.

edit: not to mention he's had his biggest impact in the biggest moments. The game-tying bucket against Memphis, the bucket that sealed the game in overtime, the clutch free throws in the final minute against Golden State, and the game-saving rebounds and defensive plays down the stretch.

I hope Lakers win tomorrow, Denver/Suns series goes to seven,The rest of the estern conference series goes to seven. I need all these teams to beat eachother up trying to advance.

Thats what i’m saying. Lakers need to go into tomorrow treating it like its a game 7 because getting Bron and AD even THREE extra days of rest can make a world of difference.

AD’s not gonna dominate Embiid like he’s been doing Looney and how he eventually outplayed Jaren Jackson.

Strategy should be let Embiid get his, like you would Jokic, and focus on shutting down Harden and frustrating Maxey. If Harden has a bad game 1 I can see him reverting back to good ole playoff Harden of the lore and completely shytting the bed. If Reaves and Russell do their part then it can honestly be a 5 game series

AD might be too quick for Embiid. Regardless, it's all about how capable AD is guarding him. If he could guard Embiid reliably 1-on-1 and the Lakers don't have to help too much they should win.

Lebron, DLO, Reaves, Rui, Dennis, Lonnie > Harden, Maxey, Harris, Melton, Tucker. Embiid could get his but I like the Lakers supporting cast better than Philly's. Might be reductive but that's what it would come down to imo.

Posters talking about the future too much. Refs might try to extend the series and make it almost impossible to win Game 5, plus Golden State's role players shoot a lot better at home. Game 7 is on Golden State's home court too, I would bet on Bron but you never want to depend on a game 7 on the road. So most of the Lakers' chances come down to Game 6. You really want to act this confident when your advantage mostly comes down to one game and players like D-Lo, Reaves, Walker, etc. who have been extremely unreliable so far?

And he's doing it on a less than 100% right foot and with no backup center when AD is out of the game....Could you imagine how good this Lakers team would be if Lebron didn't eff his foot up and we had a backup center?... And imagine if Beasley shot 40% from 3 as he did prior to the trade.....LA would be scary.
