I may be in the minority here among long time Griselda fans, but I prefer his new work. Reject 2, GOAT, Blakk Tape, etc. I definitely liked those, but like you said, I don't revisit them very much. I think in that period he cranked out so many joints with Daringer that were mostly interchangeable. And I'm wasn't even mad at that. But I had to be in the mood to listen.

A big reason I've gone from just thinking he's just a dope emcee to thinking he's got potential as a serious artist has been since Covid-19, and hearing the growth in subject matter, expanded production, etc. It's weird to think that someone with so much music out could be just finding their artistic footing. But I think he's actually poised to become an interesting artist if he stays on the path he's on. I'd really like to see him develop a stronger hook game without relying on doing the 50 Cent thing or using Jae Skeese.

I'm ready for a lot of these songs he's previewed to drop, because almost all of them I like better as songs than a lot of his older material. From King to a God is definitely his most well rounded album with the most replayability.
I agree that he obviously has the potential to drop some classic material. He is a tremendous MC who’s track record of destroying tracks is very noteworthy. I just think when it comes to hearing snippets I think sometimes you can think something sounds incredible in a snippet and then sound disappointing when you get the full version. Especially with Conway because thru time he has had so many underwhelming hooks IMO. I really need him to drop a truly well rounded album. Like you said, it does seem that he is expanding his subject matter and that is dope. I just need to hear the whole album first because most of his releases have been really mid with the exception of FAKTAG because that was his most well rounded release to this date.

I feel you on snippets, but at the same time, he's playing full sings. And I can't really think of any songs he's played that I did or didn't like, where I ended up changing my mind once I heard the whole thing. I heard every song on FKTAG besides Jesus Khrysis and Nothing Less off those Instagram streams, and it still ended up being in my top 3 albums of 2020. On the flip side, I didn't like the 2nd Big Ghost project when he previewed it, and when it was released I still didn't really like it.

I think the reason I'm really excited about the GDMM album is because the songs he's played have been almost all very introspective songs about life, loss, hope, etc. The Cow is what made me a fan of him, and I think those types of songs are his strongest bag as an artist. So when I know that content is coming, *and* I like the beats when I'm not hearing them in full CD quality, then I know I'll probably like them even more in CD quality.

But you still make a great point. I know you can't judge music off of previews.

I’m hoping this project is sonically the same as From King To God. I still listen to that more than most of Conway’s past projects.
Same here. The diversity is dope. It’s got Alchemist and Daringer but the extensions to Primo, Havoc, Erick Sermon, Khrysis, 9th Wonder, Roc Marci, etc, were great.

It could be but I don’t think so. He showed the final GDMM tracklist and it was on there. And when I pre-ordered La Maquina, in my iTunes it says this SE Gang joint is about 3.5 minutes long. And the John Woo Flick/Spray 80 joint is over 4 minutes.

But maybe they could’ve shortened it? I don’t know. I guess anything’s possible.

edit: @LJLYDK! heard it and said it's a new joint.

No doubt! I finally stopped checking for the new livestreams. After he played that Cocaine Paradise joint with Daringer, the Can't Get Away joint with Alchemist, and that So Much More joint with J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, I just said enough is enough.

I'm gonna wait for this Conway music to drop. I don't wanna keep spiling every single project he drops, which I did throughout the pandemic. I ruined Lulu, FKTAG, and most of GDMM for myself.

If you say this SE Gang joint is dope, that's all I care about. :hubie::salute:
edit: @LJLYDK! is the joint featuring 2 Chainz produced by Alchemist dope? :jbhmm:
