It was some bullshyt attempt to modernize Cage, but they did it by using a bunch of old stereotypes from the mid 90's, and it was a book from the early 2000's.

No, that was Alias.

When Bendis started writing that book he was initially using that Max version of Cage, but he eventually morphed the character into what he is today.
