I think this is their push to grab that "TV" crowd since its clear that we are moving towards a post-cable world fairly soon and this is Microsoft's attempt to get a bulk of that before Apple comes in and tries to do it.

Jobs had something in mind and he even thinks he figured it out before he died.

And thats cool. I just think people should be given the option to decide if they can live with the controller or go with the Kinect for added convenience. Making the consumer invest in the tech that you invested in is no way to go in my opinion. You make the case for how good the Kinect is and let those consumers decide. You make your money back that way. As it stands, they are about to launch a system thats 100 bucks more than their closest competitor and reportedly said system isn't as strong. So by making consumers foot the bill they may still lose in the end anyway. It seems counter-productive.

If they really wanted a return of investment on the Kinect they should have found more ways to get it packged and working with more PC's and Smart TVs and even cars, not just a videogame console.

in reality the always online shyt doesn't bother me at all. what bothers me is the kinect. i really do not want the kinect. nothing they have shown for the kinect 2 has me interested at all. don't care about tv because i don't have cable in my office.

i'm kind of dissapointed, in all honesty microsoft's sacrifice in sales and what they were trying to do is better for the consumer and industry long term

how awesome would it be if console gaming was like Steam and you had these awesome sales and rapestop stopped over pricing used games

too bad they didn't have the balls to just stick through the bad pr and let everyone try it

They never seemed to even remotely care about the consumer even a week ago, now they have seen the light all of a sudden. Doesn't matter to me though i was gonna get a ps4 b4 it was announced. I am just a sony guy and will enjoy my PS4 this holiday season.

What needs to be asked is WHY those features were taken away to make room for the fall-back plan

No one is against more. People just want the choice. MS hasn't show a reason that the Kinect absolutely HAS to included. All those snap features and sh!t you can do with a controller. If you want the added convenience of the voice commands you should be able to OPTIONALLY spend the 100 bucks to get it.

Do you understand that it has to be mandatory soo that developers take advantage of it....have you not seen the new capabilities??? Talking about only the snap capabilities isn't doing justice to the progress they made with the Kinect 2

the eye and move not being mandatory is the reason shyt won't be done for it...another Sony ploy to get you to waste your money on something THEY SEE as a gimmick. ..their not trying to push their move and eye forward...they just want you to know hey we have something like it too



and the consumers fall for the dumb shyt the majority of time...because generally consumers aren't the brightest bunch
