the difference is that those who dont give a shyt about this feature aren't forced to pay for it purchasing ps4

It's dumb for them to not package it in if they really want it to be a quality adition the the ps4. Half of the features they are showing off as improvements over the ps3 need the pseye to function.

You having "options" gimps the effectiveness of the features. History tells us that peripherals not packaged with the hardware are always shytty. Devs won't spend time on features that all users can't take advantage of.

If there is a chance for camera motion/voice controls to improve gaming. Then the camera has to be packaged in.

Which is why the original kinect never make it passed gimmick status. It was successful from a sales standpoint. But it was never truly integrated into quality games.

The fable kinect game was a lot of fun. The kinect wasn't strong enough to make it really special. But there was some indication of what a quality kinect game could be.

I don't think there will ever be a game that's considered "hardcore" with all kinect controls. But some of the "better with kinect" stuff they are talking about with kinect being able to read your emotions/pulse or using your spine as a third thumb stick sounds pretty cool if they are implemented correctly. They also talked about things like raising your finger to your temple to turn on night vision or raising the controller to bring up a shield.

And for me personaly the voice and motion controls for the OS are exciting.
