Could be a good idea but I think we need to see this for an extended period of time to properly judge and in the summer months.

I
The problem as others mentioned before is internal. Too many angry kids with no outlets to let out anger besides shooting. I mentioned this before but Brownsville has a lot of boxing stars, there needs to be more money put into boxing schools and into the BRC to get kids out the street and more productive. You have to trick them with sports and then tie the academics in like back in the day "You can't box or play ball until your grades are up"

Na Brownsville, Brooklyn. Moved to Houston in 2011.

To be real, police don't really do shyt til after the crime has been committed and racially profile but having a community watch is better because they know the ins and outs. The BRC is a perfect example for keeping kids off the streets. That's where I use to go when I was a youngin while my parents were at work.
I'm surprised violent crime happens with all the foot patrols.

really? @SourPowerStraws
TBH the government should build affordable housing (not necessarily section 8) that would alleviate the housing crisis because of the competition.

The NYCHA is privatizing some of their buildings but not the way these people are speaking about.

Look up nycha rad program and most of the residents have great experiences with the program. People just scared of change cause of the gentrification stuff

Yes the RAD program but they actually do a good job. Only thing I will say is they won’t tolerate these project dudes being 8 months behind their cheap ass rent.

Ocean village in the Rockaways was a success

Most programs need 5-10 years to really reveal its true intentions.
The strings are getting untied slowly, but its gonna get real hectic within the next few years...
