COMMUNITY'S YVETTE NICOLE BROWN JOINS CBS' THE ODD COUPLE
Shirley's headed over to CBS to work with Oscar and Felix, but fear not, Community fans...

First off, Community fans can rest easy. With production on the show's sixth season - which will air on Yahoo Screen - not starting until late fall/early winter - this news shouldn't cause any problems regarding the resurrection of Greendale.
But Community's Yvette Nicole Brown will now be extra busy as she's joined a new series - CBS' The Odd Couple reboot, starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon. Brown has taken over the role of Oscar Madison's (Perry) assistant, Dani, from the exiting Sarah Baker (who we saw recently on the Louie episode "So Did The Fat Lady").
THR describes the character of Dani as...
"...someone who spends most of her workday on the phone, apologizing to assorted high and mighty people who have been offended by [Oscar's] latest splenetic rant. A woman of tact and polish -- two concepts that never enter into Oscar's bullheaded professional life -- Dani has one or two little issues that make her a less than ideal employee: She has no short-term memory and can't even remember to write down notes to herself."
Recently, Community star Ken Jeong also found a new TV role - starring as himself on an MTV pilot called Ken Jeong Made Me Do It. Jeong will also return to Community when it begins production. So no worries there either.

COMMUNITY: THE RUSSO BROTHERS DIRECTING THE SEASON 6 PREMIERE
From Greendale to Marvel and back again.
26 AUG 2014 BY ERIC GOLDMAN
Joe Russo and Anthony Russo aren’t forgetting their roots, as the directors who brought you Captain America: The Winter Soldier are returning toCommunity again for the Season 6 premiere.
The brothers were the primary directors on Community when it began, starting with the pilot episode they helmed, and in its five seasons so far, between the two of them, they have directed 33 episodes.
Those last two episodes, impressively, come from Season 5 – especially notable since the Russo brothers were in the midst of editing their acclaimed hit, The Winter Soldier, at the time, but still took time to return to Greendale.
I spoke to the Russos today about the DVD and Blu-ray release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (more on that soon!) and asked them if -- even as they not only prep for Captain America 3 but also direct a couple of episodes of Agent Carter -- they might be able to return to Community again, now that the show has been resurrected by Yahoo for Season 6.
Replied Anthony, “We will be returning. We're going to do the first episode [of Season 6] for those guys. We're going to have a little fun with that episode. [Community executive producers] Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna are cooking up something very cool for us...”
Anthony explained that there was plenty of incentive to keep going back to Community. “The quality is always so high for the scripts on that show, so it's very exciting to tear into one of those scripts as a director.”

Which Community Cast Members are in Season 6?
Attention, Human Beings...
10 SEP 2014 BY ERIC GOLDMAN
So just who is back for Community: Season 6? There’s been some fan concern about which cast members were returning to the show, when new episodes debut on Yahoo and Uproxx noted that there was some questions regarding Alison Brie’s participation in particular. Recently, Community writer Ryan Ridley had responded on Twitter to a question about whether Brie's character, Annie, was in the script for the season premiere with “Not sure yet" and the actress hadn’t mentioned the series on her Twitter feed since NBC cancelled it, including when Yahoo saved it a few weeks later at the last minute.
IGN has checked with sources close to the series and can confirm this: Alison Brie is under contract for Season 6, along with Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong and Jim Rash. All seven of these actors are expected to be a part of the new season. Now keep in mind we don’t know if this means that they’ll all be in all 13 episodes, but you should expect to see Jeff, Shirley, Annie, Britta, Abed, Chang and the Dean again in these new episodes.
As for Jonathan Banks and John Oliver, while they had significant roles in Season 5, they both were technically guest actors and not under contract. With both of them much busier these days – Banks with Better Call Saul, Oliver with his HBO series – their participation in Season 6 remains to be determined.
UPDATE: Community Dan Harmon has now tweeted the following, making things even more clear.
