:francis: Dats where I'm at now. I'm like the last one left before my departments restructuring over the last 7 years. I pretty much know everything and my salary reflects it. But now we have this new supervisor who don't know shyt so if I leave the department damn near collapses. I'm trying to get my financial licenses but the approvals are dragging they're feet.
Do what you gotta do and get out of there.

That’s kinda where I am now. I have one white woman I report to who has basically been protected because she was friends with the right ppl. I have one VP who realized she’s a ditz and is on her heavy, and trying to get me to snitch on the dumb mistakes she makes, another VP who covers for her and literally goes out her way to fix her reports, etc. Should’ve been my job but she’s “been here forever”.

Ok. :ehh: They know I’ll never let things fall apart, but they take advantage of that.

What breh said up thread about family owned businesses (practices). :mjlol:
The family is awesome, but the ppl we report to… there’s going to be a major HR issue at some point lol

Anyway, yea, some expect you to sit and wait forever for a position to open up, because that’s how it was for them.

I’m just going to pivot and let the chips fall where they may.

Philly born. PG raised
Exactly how I’ve survived.

“I feel like you’re really good at keeping secrets”.

“Oh well you don’t tell anyone anything anyway.”

Last 2 comments I got in the last couple weeks.

I’m a vault, simply because I don’t care and I don’t want to be involved in ANY drama.
But it keeps me safe because when everything blows up, my name is never in it :mjlol:

Exactly. And if you got some foresight, you can see certain shyt coming before it happens(layoffs, reorgs, etc.)

I don't know if y'all ever worked at someplace good (I've had mulitple careers, in multiple industries, and plenty of jobs, I've only ever worked at 2 good gigs)

But this is how I felt when one of the good gigs started to turn.

The line that sticks out to me

As the company continued to expand, hiring more people, but not having a clear focus, we inevitably hired careerists who were there to get promoted and make money.

^This describes every DC job I've ever been at.

And who's to blame the "careerists"? They got burned and they responded correctly.

if your job got a high enough salary, please don't try to fukk your co-workers lol

i remember when i first hopped into my job with a good salary, had a female co-worker that was super nice :ehh: i didn't think anything of it..then somewhere down the line the arm touches and weird statements started coming out of nowhere

i remember talking to her one day and asked her for some timelines on a few projects by a certain date and she replied "of course, anything for you! ☺️"

full
i asked her not to say things like that and i walked off, from then on her personality did a complete 180 towards me  some might say it wasn't that deep, but i can't risk those types of games, i got shyt to lose :manny:

Scary ass :aicmon:

If you drive a clean foreign car or a car nicer than your co workers DO NOT LET THEM SEE IT..especially if you Black and ESPECIALLY if you are young and Black..

They will start hating and attitudes will change towards you everytime on some “who does he think he is” or “how can he afford that when I can’t” type shyt

... in my very early 20s i was pushin a brand-new Lex and this manager who i didnt even report to - he had a basic 3-series (used) and out of nowhere one day i get called into this conference room where he's sitting there looking all smug with some uptight HR bytch.... he says "i know what your pay-grade makes - do you want to explain how you got that car ?" ... with an emotionless tone i told him "which one - i have three" . . . his face turned a shade of red i never seen before . ..

Why the 180? Y'all only coworkers, no reason for her to act that. I definitely ain't risking a good salary for some p*ssy.

Getting too comfortable and telling them about your 2nd job or side hustle.

I told my boy not to talk to his manager about his rental properties. He did anyway. A few months later. She tells him, she think he's more serious about his rental properties than his job. This is a 100k job.

If they see or feel like you've slacking on the job and they know your attention is with another job then you going to have a problem.

From my understanding, a couple of his houses had some problems. His attention was been diverted. His main job tasks were not being properly attended to.

:russell: this my last response to you. No one is even thinking or alluding to you getting involved or smashing whoever was being overly nice to you at the job. I've learned in the business sector that's just genuinely just how some people are (everyone's not a conniving corporate bot trying to climb the ladder.)
As long as you're not out of line or say anything out the way you shouldn't have anything to worry about. :yeshrug:

All that projecting you was doing just showed how hurt you were :mjlol:
We're done here.
