Uh there have been three movies since TFA. And Solo seems to be continuing the trend already started.

It's like comparing apples and oranges though. I think a far better comparison would be comic book movies are this generation's Slasher Genre, or Westerns, Mythology genre.

Star Wars was an original (albeit hybrid) story, told over 3 movies.

Comicbook movies (even if you want to be specific) Marvel - is a collective of independent movies, that may or may not be connected to the overall story. These characters have also existed for decades, so they bring in an existing market. Also, most casuals don't know the difference between Marvel Studios, Marvel, and hell, DC/WB if you want to keep it 100.

Still there is a type of movie that is the lead representative for each category. Clint Eastwood movies for Westerns, Freddy or Jason for slasher movies, and Star Wars for sci-fi. Right now it's Marvel reppin' for superheroes.
And I don't know the exact % breakdown but MCU movies have a lot more die hards than others superhero movies.

Another case of nikkas thinking them and their circle of friends is a reflection of the whole globe. The billions of dollars spent on movies, toys and other merchandise in the past 5 years proves that every thing you just said was wrong

While I agree that the MCU is this generations star wars rumours of star wars demise are greatly exaggerated. It seems fans bytch and moan online and in reviews but will still see it multiple times anyway I am guessing just to make sure the its truly shyt? I mean rogue one gets talked about as boring and that still made a billion. TLJ gets criticized for shyting on the franchise again a billion.
