For me wha makes it the GOAT is cause it's the closest thing to a good book as you can get on TV. Now me I used to not be a big TV person(It's amazing how much TV i watch now as compared to b4) but gimmie a good book, a spliff and sum scotch and I'm good. And in its essence thats wha TV is it's the telling of a story only visual. They spun a tale in such detail like never done b4.
You can see the influence of the Wire from how it influenced other shows ie the Sopranos, Breaking Bad etc etc. Shows b4 were in essence linear heres the good guy heres the bad guy the hero saves the day blah blah no real depth no real confliction but to an extent. But u ask folks who they fav character you get both sides of the good/bad guy equation. McNulty broke damn near erry rule was a drunk, a philanderer, a liar but he was a cop so does that make him automatically good? Omar was a homo, a thief a murder does that make him automatically bad? Frank Sobatka ran a union, assisted in smuggling drugs explosives, bought politicians but he did it made sure his union survived and all the lives associated ate wha is he? The point is not erry is is automatically 1 thing or the other, it just put it out there and let the viewer make the decision based on they own views.
Plus erry1 talks bout killing off characters but the main character was B'more who the fukk does that? The wire is that science yo

This. Every character in that show was 3 dimensional and complex even side players.

boy I watched every episode of the Sopranos and Ive seen every episode of The Wire. Sopranos=not much replay value. The Wire=great replay value

The Wire=goat

To me The Sopranos has had mad replay value. I've seen the whole series over 3 times. I've given it a rest now cause I've seen it too much but it had a lot of replay value to me.

I've only seen all The Wire episodes once so I'm thinking of copping the boxset and rewatching it but Sopranos has had a lot of replay value for me.

you dont think stringer deserved to die after all he did? look at all the people he fukked over, that nikka was a snake

and Bodie died because he broke the same code he lived by, the same code he murdered Wallace over
