What about Mutton (adult sheep)?

I never had it but I heard it's harder to prepare
W.O.A.T. meat

it's just more fattier and more gammier

I grew up a farm boy so we ate Goat and lamb often but when they were cooking mutton you could smell it a mile or more away. the thing of nightmares to me

I grew up on goat meat. Goat meat is a much more gamey meat than lamb, and it depends on if u have a male or female goat when u have the strongest flavour with the male "ram goat" being a much more strong renk scent and flavour. Sheep has the same flavour just not as strong and goat is a much leaner meat.

a goddamn liar sir

don't disrespect Goat meat like that.

Surprise(!), we had lamb ribs last night, cooked on a real life outside charcoal bbq, in the midst of a tropical storm(?).

Is it like a more intense version of lamb?

I did have curry goat a couple times and it was definitely gamey, more so than lamb. Though, each gamey meat has its own flavor that people might or might not enjoy. I love venison, lamb, and duck.

:ooh: Report back!

We had some duck bacon once, shyt was everything. :ohlawd:

So.

Finally picked up the lamb bacon yesterday. I didn't have a damn thing to do today, but I still woke up early as hell SPECIFICALLY to have breakfast to myself.

Brehs...........:mjcry::whoo::to::ohlawd::whew::damn:

It was outstanding. It's got a deeper, far more savory taste than regular bacon with that little hint of gaminess you expect from lamb, but not that intense. Not as salty as regular bacon, which I was mildly surprised by.

On a completely random note, I hadn't thought about it, but since it's lamb, it's halal/kosher. Nice loophole for those that want bacon, but won't or can't eat pork. It's better anyway.

shyt might be what finally breaks me and the lady up. Every time she cooks breakfast with regular bacon, I won't be able to look at the plate disappointed, and think that it could be better.

Gamey is one of those descriptions that doesn't make a ton of sense until you taste it. The simplest I can describe it is that in most cases, when talking about an animal that has a mostly grass/natural diet, the earthiness of the food they ate carries into the meat.

Yeah it's not necessarily a bad thing. Just means a different kind of flavor from the usual beef/chicken/pork that everyone eats

My family has been eating lamb for generations. We have a lamb for Christmas every year. Not even a turkey. And we're American.

Being Halal or Kosher is to do with how the animal is looked after, killed and prayed over and nothing to do with the meat itself. If it's halal it can't be kosher and vice versa. Even though its the same principle.
