The United States military still hasn't adapted to Asymmetrical warfare on the ground. How the hell did the US military get washed by the Taliban??
"one of them has their helmet on backwards"
He really had the face when he said that"Why are you throwing away your cigarette. Aren't cigarettes valuable here? Is this hashish?"⁰
"No not hashish"
@neotheflyingone After taking more time to think about it, I’m glad I went to Afghanistan instead of Iraq. Yes it’s relatively flat, but the complexity of all the dangers must have been maddening.
Plus they did their thing in the middle of a civil war, while fighting AQI/IS/etc. with no real support at home aside from loving family and fat ass cac’s “supporting the troops” with country songs and little ass lawn flags that were made in China.
In Afghanistan they may fukk you up for a second but they always lose the fight in the end. They can’t even really run away like that. Iraq they can hit you and disappear into a crowd of civilians or housing complexes. There’s endless ways to die in Iraq.
Afghanistan is slightly smaller than Texas....basically it's Texas but with the population size of California....but with a ton of mountains and mostly civilians.
Air strikes seem almost useless.
“Dude is wearing a bright blue shirt on a combat mission. These guys are supposed to be getting to the point of being able to do this without Americans being here. It makes me wonder if I wasn’t here, would this guy be really going up into the mountains with a bright blue shirt”
Smoking hash right in front of them
