A lot of people thought Guardians would be Marvel's first full fledged flopped and there were no initial plans for a sequel... But since we talking number let me drop some.

SS was shown in 175 more theaters opening weekend.. so it was supposed to make more.
But in week two while Guardians had a 55.3% drop SS had a 67% drop and only made about 5 million more than Guardians even though it was shown in more theaters.
And because of the positive response Guardians got in its first week, it actually got added to more locations in week two.

And the movie was dope. Smith pretty much never fails on the screen, Robbie crushed it and I want more of them which was the point of not saturating the screen with the duo...there's more to come.

My only comment is that it could have used a stronger antagonist or used one of the many DC world threats like Mongul or someone, but "i wanted pizza but got hamburgers" isnt a fair critique of the burger spot. the movie was strong, and I want more of everyone in it.

I dont think theres no chance in hell, just like I wouldnt be surprised if someone told me both Avengers movies and Cap 3 or the Transformers or TMNTs or Warcraft were $400 budgeted movies.
