I assumed his marriage went bad because he abruptly stopped talking about her a long period of time.

I went back to ByronCrawford.com the other day just to read those original stories he wrote, back when he was still practicing law and had to come up with the pseudonym "Combat Jack" to tell industry stories.

It's crazy that was 13-14 years ago, those stories are all still hilarious. Then when he started doing the podcasts with Dallas Penn etc. I was all in. Dude was funny and really cared about Hip hop.

I follow Premium Pete and all them man there on Insta and the first thing on my feed is a picture of them with Just Blaze

It’s sad man. So close to Christmas too. But he knew he was going to die from what Pete is saying.

Just relistened to the JCole interview.

Combat was so cool yo, he would just kick it with the artist instead of drilling them with a bunch of questions. It always felt so genuine.

I used his style when I did the hiring at my job. None of that Q&A bs. Just kicked it with the candidate and get all the answers through a good conversation. I noticed people really appreciate when you take interest in their life.

So I started doing it when I’m talking to girls.

No lie brehs, I really modeled my convo skills after Combat. Dude was so genuine I got tears now

I met Combat twice in passing. One of the times the DJ was playing a joint off Supreme Clientele and Combat was rhyming along word for word.

I will say that he actually loved hip hop unlike most of these pretenders. I complimented him for his Live.Love.ASAP review. He was the only 'tastemaker' who reviewed the actual music while everyone else reviewed Rocky's 3 million deal
