I live in Aurora, Colorado not too far from Century 16 movie theatre. Though I wasn't old enough to really remember Columbine when it happened it's crazy how much this event changed school security in the state and brought about alot of anti bullying campaigns. But like someone said earlier the media was wrong for portraying these dudes as innocent. They originally planned to blow the cafeteria up and when that didn't work they decided to go in shooting...They clearly knew what they were doing. God bless the victims families

True and then we learned half the people they killed were considered nerds or regular kids too. They even had their friends hiding under those tables and were shooting not only jocks but anyone they thought was weak and inferior. Turned out they were just psychopaths. Dylan went to prom with a cute girl the week before. Eric was a nut; he wanted to join the military because it's the only way he could kill people legally, but he was turned down. He harassed other kids and teased the ones he thought were weaker than him. I think he mentioned being left out of parties from the popular kids. He also mentioned wanting to rape women during the projected rampage; like he had no normal interest in then like Dylan had. Yeah they were teased but you would think if that was the case they wouldn't kill a nerdy kid who liked to hunt with his dad and another who was probably development delayed. I remember after it happened the goth and skater kids wanted to kill everyone, not just the popular kids. They thought it was funny but it wasn't anything revenge of the nerds about them because I remember them trying to terrorize nerdy awkward kids and in my school, some of the black kids. fukk those people trying to take that label like society was mean to them . As far as I'm concerned they were just as bytchy and entitled and they bullies more so than the others.
When it happened, it was like a revenge of the nerds type of thing. A groundbreaking event where the nerds/weirdos/loners found out that they can fight back by killing anyone that was popular and/or the ones that picked on them.

Was only in elementary school, but the very next day someone pulled the fire alarm and all of the teachers and students were scared as fukk to go outside. Thought someone was gonna start lighting us up (this was obviously back when anyone could just walk into an elementary school)

They both killed themselves in the library where they killed the most people. Some say one killed the other then himself but who knows.

In 99 I was 13 in middle school...

I remember this and then several school shootings in the next few years in San Diego :wow:

started the whole "lockdown" drill to go with earthquake, and fire drills...

Looking back at it it's crazy how the media deflects blame from these two teenage monsters. When I was 16/17 I KNEW what I was doing. But they tried so hard to blame Marilyn Manson music, violent video games, movies, the internet, etc.

Why not blame the fycking kids and their parents. They were making bombs in the garage and the parents didn't know...but it's Mortal Kombat's fault?

:camby:
Man I was in 3rd grade but I remember all the damn lockdown drills after this.....they started getting a little serious about bullying but not too serious as it is now.

Nowadays you finna get serious suspension for calling ya friend fat :francis:
