but someone will tell them it'll be cheaper to use CGI, and then by the time it hits post-production it's going to be twice as expensive and look worse than practical.
these companies just have not gotten their heads around the fact that things that are meant to have presence cannot be done in CGI because they are physically not present in the scene. They do fine for additional aspects, but basically no one pulls off CGI machines that add gravity to a scene in live-action. 2025 and they still can't get that shyt down right

You’re trying to compare video game animation to live action. That’s setting yourself up for failure. And Netflix greenlight a bunch of shyt and cancel it after 2 seasons. These a$$holes have money to burn.

Another reason why netflix/streaming is a bad choice, you probably won’t even finish the story because they’d rather save that money and give nick and Vanessa lachey another show

Fallout is a success. Practical effects used most of the time with a little bit of CGI mixed in could work. Netflix green lights shyt and drops it after a season. Tell me I’m wrong?

Last of Us‘ biggest complaint by everyone watching it during the first season was that there wasn’t enough infected and action lol
yeah, base a 8 episode show around the Shadow Carja and crimes in Meridian and see how much people stay interested in that show. At the end of the day I’d rather have a Dune 1 and Dune 2 than a Dune: Prophecy

Fallout doesn’t revolve around 10-30 ft tall machines, they barely needed anyhting outside of make up to make that show work.

They could do the simple formula and use the small machines first, throw in one of those camo jaguars as the big baddie. shyt, make new machines that are small.
Fallout didn’t use Deathclaws or super mutants for season 1. Get people to like the show with a solid story and nice looking world and people will continue to watch.
it doesn’t matter if they do a movie or tv series, they only go on if the first one is a success. A tv show could bomb just as much as a movie, but a tv show works better to tell a STORY.

Fallout just isn’t the same kind of game that Horizon is. Fallout is about exploration and little quest and stuff. It’s easier to finesse with a lower budget. The most interesting parts of Horizon is not the tribal stuff.
Horizon is set up as the gaming equivalent of a blockbuster movie. It’s supposed to be what Jurassic park or Transformers is for movies. And you don’t see any of those properties attempting tv series as popular as they are.
Maybe if they didn't waste an entire episode on a love story that had no bearing on the story they could have shown more action and infected.
