Can’t make everyone happy but a 12 team playoff is perfect to me :yeshrug:

I used to think players were only about money and didn’t care about winning championships.
I found out that isn’t true. These players, 1st round pick and all, care about winning a natty and the conference title.
Baker was just bragging about beating Texas two years in a row. shyt was 10 years ago. They still hate each other and want their team to win a regular season rivalry game.
They just opt out the pointless bowl games.

I mean it has happened before

Edit: I forgot Florida played in the SECCG that year

Point still stands, rivalries won’t take a hit, in a way, it might enhance it

I mean imagine 3 Iron Bowls in a year, the state of Alabama might burn to the ground

Ehhh it actually did happen and when it did ucla came out and laid down like some bytches the first go round to make sure they missed Oregon in the title game

Could there be a situation where a 2 loss team that makes the CCG game opts out?

Like if they don't play and lose in the CCG game, they would get in at 11-12, but a loss could knock them out?

Would be interesting but i think it can and will happen.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
12 teams is fukkin perfect. The problem is there are 110+ D1 teams so someone is always going to be slighted.

Plus you can get better regular season matchups now that you dont have to go undefeated or have 1 loss to make it now. The B10 and SEC are talking about the SEC/B10 challenge like what they do in basketball. This is a GOOD thibg. No longer do we have to watch ohio state or bama or someone play 3stodges university and win 67-0 and they cut them a 100k check.

I also need the CFP to give higher seeds home field advantage in every round except the national championship game. That makes sense to do.
134 teams.

And the problem is there’s only 10 conferences. If there were 12 it would be perfect because the playoff would consist of nothing but conference champions.

But the SEC and Big 10 made sure that would never happen. Buy having so many teams in conference, they will always argue that their 4th best team is better than the Mountain West Champion.

I think eventually, the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, and SEC will break from the NCAA and form their own cartel with their own playoff. The other 6 conferences will have their own polls. It won’t be FCS, but it will just be separate.

They’re trying to be like the NFL, but the NFL is basically the size of the Big 10 and SEC combined. They don’t rely on polls and selection committees.

IDK I could see some team throwing a hissy fit over having to play with nothing for them to gain and for them to lose. It sounds absurd but the situation we have now could lead to it happening. A lot of shyt that would've sounded absurd in 2018-19 is totally normal today.

Personally I think they need to :camby: conference championship games now. There's no more use for them in the new format.
