I mean... in fairness, they're right.

Every lawyer always tries to have every case thrown out. It almost never works. Even saying "almost" is just a formality. That shyt never works.

Still an important step, just not an unexpected one.

I genuinely bet that their lawyers told them to settle immediately and they didn't want to. Football being full of my way or the highway ass folks is gonna be it's downfall.

They need to stop being dumbasses and settle.

Surviving a motion to dismiss is not a big deal. But its totally different at summary judgememt. At that point there has been discovery, evidence has been presented, and the judge is deciding not if there is enough merit for the case to go to trial but whether Colin has a chance of winning.

In a case of collusion, surviving a summary judgment motion is a big deal. It means that Colin and his lawyers presented enough evidence of collusion that the judge belives its possible they can win the case.

You can't try to diminish this ruling. Its a big deal.

No. You're wrong. This is actually an unexpected outcome if you listened to the media cause they have been acting like this is an impossible case for Colin to win because proving collusion is hard. Today's ruling says that Colin has enough evidence of collusion that its possible he can win at trial.

If there was NO EVIDENCE of collusion, the case would have been dismissed today at the summary judgment stage. But the fact it was not dismissed means Colin and his lawyers have at least some evidence that can prove collusion in court. That's a HUGE deal.

Big time lawyers always try to win the case at Summary Judgment because trial can be unpredictable. The fact the NFL lawyers couldn't win the case at summary judgment means Colin stands a good chance of winning this case. That was not "expected".

Agree to disagree.

There being evidence of white owners colluding against an outspoken black player was expected to me, especially in 2018 when everything is done electronically.

Once they subpoenaed their phone records and emails, that was a wrap. I've said from the start this case was a slam dunk.

His attorneys were brilliant to go after them for collusion, instead of something where intent is a grey area, like racism.

“Politically, if you’re the arbitrator, in a case as big as this is, there’s no way to throw it out,” said Charles Grantham, a former executive with the National Basketball Players Association who now teaches at the Center for Sport Management at Seton Hall University. “We knew that as soon as Donald Trump put his fingerprints on the issue.”

:yeshrug: I agree with you on this.

I'm just saying that the media made this case out as having no merit. Today it was proven that it has a lot of merit.

I wasn't saying I didn't believe there was collusion. I knew from the jump Kaep could win this case. I'm just saying its a big deal given the narrative the media was running with before today.
