I wish I would have never left Georgia and moved to the D.C. area at 29.

It drained my assets, put me in debt, stressed me out, and put my marriage in peril. Plus I was forced to raise my kids around a lot of c00ns and weirdos.

I didn’t really start to recover and rebuild until I moved back down South.

Gonna be 37 this summer.I would say stopped listening to people's advice and just trusting people in general . Tried reaching out to get good business advice etc. Realizing most people don't know shyt, especially about investing and money. Most people you come into contact with are truly dumb whether it's in relationship, business as well.

I will be 42 this year. For the first time in my life I have a nice lil investment and some savings and a rental home.

If I could go back, I would:

1- Get my finances in order. Start DCA'ing into stocks and cryptos
2- Buy more property. Nothing beats someone handing you cash once a month.
3- Spend more time with family/friends. The older you get the more people you are going to lose. You start to realize that is really at that matters.
4- Be more proactive with my mental health. Doesn't matter how strong like bull your body is if you want to die every day. Talk to doctors. Try different things. Took me 20 years to get a diagnosis that seems to fit and the meds to match, but I feel (mentally) better than ever now.

Other than that, not too many regrets. I see it all as learning, and I'm competing with my own timeline, not anyone else's. Use every day as a chance to improve, even if it's by 1% and you'll be good.

I’d have been a bit more proactive about my mental health, a lot of shyt I just took to be normal as far as how I interacted with people was really trauma responses from my upbringing.

Thankfully the stigma around it is fading since you don’t have to be “crazy” to see a psychiatrist just to make sense of some things.

unpacking and disregarding a LOT of bullshyt I adopted from church folks and elders that doesn’t actually serve the world I’m going to live in nor the one I’m raising children in.

I’m in a really good place these days mentally so it’s nothing to complain about.

I’d like to say if I’d started doing the work in my life 20’s or early 30’s who knows where I’d be but I have to take into account I wouldn’t have the life experience I’m enjoying passing along so it evens out

Tried to be less selfish in how I dealt with people.

Sold my btc in December 2017 and bought more late 2018. Held onto SQ.

Bought multifamily buildings when they were dirt cheap.

Accepted the house someone wanted to put in my name.

Worn a seatbelt at all times.

Nothing really, I'm a late bloomer.

I finished paying off my first crib at 35, got married at 36, earned my Masters degree at 38. Now that I'm (kinda) financially stable, I don't have the energy to spend money that I would have in my 20s, when I was dead broke.
