Elgin had range and could pull up from 20 feet at the very least. A lot of peers marveled at his wrist/upper body strength and his ball-handling for his size (basically PF sized for his era while playing like a SF/SG). He wasn't likely to float around the perimeter though; why settle when you can get into the lane whenever you want? The Wilt Chamberlain Archive YT channel has a huge database of game tape of Elgin, West, Wilt, Pettit etc. that is definitely worth looking at if you have time. Can't say much for his defense but he isn't a negative on that end for sure. Draws a lot of Barkley (if Barkley was a wing) comps but not as lazy a defender.

Also a criminally underrated passer and had amazing touch in the mid-post. He might overlap the same area Jordan liked though so if you're worried about spacing that might be a legit concern

2015-2016 Klay Thompson

Current starters:
PG 2015-2016 Kyrie Irving
SG 2004-2005 Manu Ginobli
SF 2015-2016 Kawhi Leonard
PF 2015-2016 Dirk Nowitzki
C 1999-2000 Shaquille O'Neal
Bench:
SG 2015-2016 Klay Thompson

My emphasis was spacing built around Shaq when teams go to double: kick out to shooters who all can pass, attack closeouts, and go iso if need be. Dirk also makes great spacing in the front court.

Opposing defenses won't know if they'll be attacking or shooting. Shaq gets doubled > kicks out to Kyrie/Kawhi/Manu who finds the open guy on the perimeter > either shoots or shot fakes > drives lane > either they're going to finish strong, lob to Shaq or if the defense collapses we kick out again.

Defensively they're not a liability either.

I think I've done right by these last two generations, time to reach back for some gems.
