I knew nothing about the comic series or the background stories and I was getting too frustrated and impatient doing a cold watch right off top. I didn’t know the characters, their purpose. I wanted to actually follow it bc the premise looked interesting. For this series. Watching the summary definitely helped and made the show Much better since I knew what exactly was going on. There’s certain movies/shows where I’ll spoil it first then watch- it doesn’t reduce the quality of the show to me.

I'm watching that now. I've only seen three (1 2 6) so I can't really comment. There are brehs much more knowledgeable than me on this.

you need to watch the first few to get the gist of the character. then after that, i recommend zatoichi the outlaw. i still havent watched all of them yet so there might be a few more that are essential that i dont know about
