Well made and decent enough once you get used to the episodic format, but I'm not seeing what everyone particularly "loves" about this film. :manny:

Felt like it was repeating itself at times, and it certainly didn't need to be nearly 3 hours.

Bruce lee steered the martial arts action genre from the dancey balletic style of wuxia into the more gritty street fighting style we are all accustomed to today with the big boss. The Chinese connection or fist fury kind of pattened that in what is arguably his most iconic movie. It's been remade multiple times and spawned various spin offs both good and bad (the remake with donnie yen being bad and the sequel with bruce li being surprisingly very good) Some of the action still holds up aside from a few hokey bits here and there (him spinning two dummies around in the dojo) The slow bits can be killer and they try to infuse comedy at weird times during the movie, which I chalk up to lo wei who butted heads with Bruce many times during the making of the movie until they eventually had a falling out. Shytty director aside, bruce still Carrie's the film on his charisma alone.
that chinese broad doing the striptease was thicky thick, she aint miss nary a rice cake :whew:

This sums up most of my experience with Fellini, lol.

But yeah, can't believe any cinephile doesn't jump at these opportunities. If I lived in LA I'd be at a rep screening more than new releases probably lol.

Cinemark/Fathom Events are a godsend.

Casablanca (x2)
Ben Hur
Gone With the Wind
The Godfather
Alien
Lawrence (x2)

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Rear Window
North by Northwest

Vertigo
Die Hard
....and dozens more I'm certainly forgetting
I watched Purple Rain & Ferris Beuller's Day Off in the theaters.

It's like, I get it. The movie is called "The Sweet Life" but Rome's elite are actually miserable and empty people but godamn...how many dinner parties is Marcello going to be a part of before we move on? :martin:

This was wild enough but when you think of it as a prequel to Funny Games...:merchant:

Great movie. Nice to see a film about friendship between a black guy and a white guy without it being some bullshyt about converting a racist.

This is pretty much a Japanese Mean Streets. Would-be yakuza go around the city doing dumb shyt but a sociopath is thrown in the mix and you'd think that would make it better somewhat...nope.

Waste of a good score and some decent cinematography.
