This joint wanted to be cool SOOO BADLY but it just wasn't. In fact, its pretty fukking stupid.
There are sooooo many of these late-90s, early-00s crime movies that end up like this. Overly concerned with being slick, but the style just distracts from everything else.
But yeah, can't believe any cinephile doesn't jump at these opportunities. If I lived in LA I'd be at a rep screening more than new releases probably lol.
Cinemark/Fathom Events are a godsend.

My 10 and 9 year old just finished most of the mcu flicks. So I let them watch all the X-men joints. Son was wilding when night crawler went ham in x2.
They begged me to watch the first two wolverine joints... I gave in... the second one was better than I remember.
They asked to watch Logan, told them to fall back. They asked again, nothing but crickets when wolvies blades was going through body parts in the intro.
After watching all those movies the intro to age of apocalypse is probably GOAT comic book movie intro. The movie is terrible though.
Next up is the two fantastic four movies and I’ll let them watch the pg13 version of Deadpool 2.

You seem to be watching thrillers, if you like this movie you should check out Fracture on Netflix with Ryan Gosling. It was pretty good.
#1 performance of all-time in my book. Every choice Brando makes is perfect. I'm not even lying when I say I'm impressed with his delivery of the "I coulda been a contender" speech every time I see it.
The whole movie is great. Kazan made a lot of social issue pics, but he was just so fukking good at it.
