how is the show, because I will need something to binge watch after Justified, but im not into estrogen revenge material, how bad is it, i got no problem with a woman standing up for herself, but I don't think I can go thru anything as bad as Orange is the new black seasons 4, 5, and 6 again

Snowpiercer - really enjoyed it.

One of the few Chris Evans films I've seen where he isn't Cap and he did really well. Film was shot well too, defo give it a watch if you've not seen it.

I didn't know that, I can see why they went for it though, they can squeeze some money out of 10-13 episode prequel series. Who's producing/directing?

Spanish political thriller about a corrupt politician who becomes the fall guy in a bigger corruption scandal that hits the entire political party. Refusing to show an ounce of remorse as well as being the only one to go down, he starts a crusade to make it out of the scandal alive, or drag the entire party down with him. It starts a bit messy with little explanation and a lot of names and talking, but the further the lead goes down the rabbit hole of trying to save his own ass, the more intriguing and crazy it gets.

A 3-hour Chinese arthouse drama during the time of China's one child policy. Struck by tragedy, a couple loyal to the party becomes disillusioned and moves as far away to nowhere as possible. Switching back and forth through time, you see the good times and the bad times, and the relationship they have with their friends, all hit different by the tragedy and the changing political times. Very interesting but also very slow, so if you're intrigued, save it for a rainy sunday afternoon.

There are action movies that are violent, and there are action movies that are brutal, but only in the world of B-movies can you find a movie that is so unnecessarily cruel in its violence that there's nothing redeeming about it, lol. Scott Adkins is a wanted IRA member hiding away in French occupied Indochina, where he boxes for a bunch of local warlords who also happen to be fascists and former war criminals. Fighting his way to easy victories, he agrees to throw a fight for one big paycheck, but it backfires when his friend, a local bartender, bets the deed of the bar on his victory. In the ensuing conflict, the bartender is killed and him and the love of his life are shot and left for dead, and of course he vowes revenge. His revenge mostly consists of tracking the four men responsible, and to violently slaughter all of the henchmen who stand in his way. This happens in such needlessly violent ways (deliberate executions, decapitations, and whatnot) that the movie loses all sense of heroism in it, which is certainly only something B-movie filmmakers can pull off.

...and as a die-hard Soderbergh stan, I consider The Knick to be genius-level craft and possibly his best work. If you've never seen it, seek it out as well. Only 2 seasons.
