Original title Gräns, based on a story from the writer of Let The Right One In. Like that movie it's a 'realistic' take on folklore and also it's weird as fukk. Tina is a border patrol guard who besides being ugly, can smell people's fear and guilt, making her perfect for the job. After she exposes a pedophile and becomes part of the investigation, she meets a man eerily similar to her, and this encounter pushes her on a road to self-discovery. It's moody and melancholic and weird as fukk and it's hard to explain what makes this film so intriguing, but it is, as long as you enter with an open mind.

It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either, I actually enjoyed it for what it was

Its a modern day blaxplotation film honestly that wraps up pretty nicely

LONG ovedue for watching this. I believe this is my first proper watch of a John Woo flick (seen bits and pieces of flicks before).

That infamous flute and picking up on other scenes used in Cuban Linx 1 & 2 :banderas::banderas::banderas:

The gunplay was absolute madness. :mindblown: I'll let a gun nut decide if the number of shots were accurate because I had no problem just rolling with it :russ:

And this or the first A Better Tomorrow probably feature the most "realistic" gunplay of Woo's films. Wait until you witness the sheer over-the-top awesomeness of Hard Boiled and A Better Tomorrow II. :russ:

Chow Yun Fat was acting a damn fool in the first half :russ:

He also got lit the fukk up in this one though :francis:

I liked this. I would have liked it a lot more without THAT scene though. There's a line between weird and uncomfortable and that scene crossed it, for me.
