Was very told, interviewed everyone that was close to the crisis.

Barrack Obama, George W Bush, Hank Paulson, Jamie Dimon, Ben Bernanke, Tim Geithner, etc

Highly recommend it

This year's Palme d'Or winner is certainly also one of Kore-eda Hirokazu's best films. The film depicts a dysfunctional family (including Kore-eda regular Lily Franky and 100 Yen Love's Sakura Ando) crammed together in a small house making most of their living with minor theft as they take in ("kidnap") a young girl who was abused by her real parents. As they struggle to make a living, and to live with each other, the small conversations and interactions reveal one by one the family's true bond. It's a film about everything, a search for meaning, a coming of age, a longing for connection, all perfectly interwoven. By the time the final act strikes down hard and relentless, the cold hard facts will not for a moment sway your belief in the bittersweet truth you saw in the two hours before. A pitch perfect family drama like no other.

My #1 film of the year.

There's a beautiful, subtle poignancy about it that stays with you, not one that leaves you immediately like most films that blatantly pull at your heartstrings.

#I missed out on this film twice, will definitely try my best to catch it before the end of this year. I love Hirokazu's films; especially like father, like son.
