I wanted this to be better than it was. :ld:

Found myself mostly :russell: throughout and that random as fukk cuckolding subplot :dahell:
What the fukk?! That's one of McQueen's best.:why:

Won't lie, I may have just been tired but it didn't do much for me :ld:

I was especially disappointed considering McQueen was 2/2 so far with me. I may give it fresh eyes at at later date

Instant Family- DOPE! Funny and poignant. Highly recommend

The Favourite- Brilliant. Funny, in a very dark dark way. Last scene and overall point was sobering AF. Me and my friends talked about it all night. Deserves all the award nominations its gonna get.

If the movie lives up to the incredible trailers (and it's hard to imagine that it doesn't), then I believe all the hype. I need this film ASAP.

The new film from the director of Ida, and personally I thought this is an even better film. In post-WW2 Poland a musical director, a dance instructor and their financial manager travel across the country to record local folk songs. A group of young singers and dancers are recruited to create a stage show to promote Polish nationalism, and the musical director falls in love with one of the young and brazen singers. With the Soviet Union's influence growing, the stage show quickly becomes a propaganda show, and the director defects to the west. Throughout the years he reconnects with the singer, his true love, the same as she proclaims him his true love, but their wildly different nature and drive always pushes them apart. Shot in gorgeous black & white, it's a unique, fragmented but intrusive film that hits all the right notes throughout its tragic tale of love.

:wow:

Glad I didn't give up on Bergman because this was pretty damn good. It's pretty much a play and the character work is excellent.

Karin's delusional and yet poignant views of God :wow:

The verbal ether Martin gave David on the boat :dayum:

David not knowing how to love his family until he had a failed suicide attempt :picard:

The deceased mother suffering from the same illness as Karin and David being happy she died so he could focus on his writing :scust:

David admitted that he wished Karin died as well and tried to relate that with Martin :hhh:

The teasing and eventual incest with Minus :notithes:

The revelation of "God" and the breakdown at the end :damn: (and if you ask me, she was really lashing out when she saw that chopper descend to take her to the hospital)
