What did you think of this? It's one of my GOAT movies.
Bollywood biopic about famed actor Sanju who had one of the more scandalous careers in Bollywood history, involving drugs, owning weapons and other madness. The movie itself is entertaining although it's very clearly an "approved" look at the actor's life with excuses for most of Sanju's scandals (oh, I became addicted because of tragedy, oh, I had bad people influencing me) that also blatantly attacks entertainment media. Enjoyable but not to be taken serious.
One of Bollywood's most lauded comedies is of course an overly long melodramatic feel-good enterprise. It follows two students of a highly acclaimed IT university, although both would rather pursue other careers, as they encounter a new student who, besides being a genius, is also a counter-culturist who attacks the education system at every chance he gets. Does the movie need almost three hours to tell the story of how they find their own way, while the lead falls in love with the daughter of his archnemesis the principal? Of course not, but at least the movie is light enough that the three hours never become unbearable even though they are utterly unnecessary.
